What Pepper is This?

Hey guys! I bought seeds that were supposed to be Purple Cayenne. Someone said that they are purple (purple varieties can be quite dark, apparently) but not a cayenne pepper.

What do you think? I think they can be cayenne peppers but they look more black than purple to me...  :P

Black prince? (not my photo)

Purples and blacks are pretty much the same thing, just differing degrees of pigment. They're pretty much interchangeable as a result so that could be either.
Doesn't look like a Cayenne, though.

Hm. You're right. Now when I think of it, they don't really look like the Cayenne peppers I grew a couple years ago.

Hm, the flowers aren't purple. Here's a photo of a flower:

it's a cool looking pod whatever it is. Could be that maybe it was crossed with some type of ornamental.

Yes I like the shape and the color. Some are growing upward (like the one on the photo) and some aren't.

Maybe it's a cross? I have an unknown Black Prince cross from Black Prince seeds I ordered, and the flowers are white with purple marks/hue. It could def be purple cayenne crossed with something.
