Me thinks my MOA red might be a tad hotter

I didn't get outside in time to get better pics today. Bright sunlight makes it kind of a pain with my old camera. I just cropped my pics from yesterday instead of resizing to help with quality. These are MOA reds from MWCH. One plant with only small pods sofar looks about right. My 2 others look different. 1 looks A LOT different.

This is my largest plant and is nearly double the size of the others. It also forked very early and very low on the plant too. The fork is so low it looks like 2 plants but im 100% sure it is not.

Anyway, these look like some kind of super hot or super hot cross to me. None of the other chinenses ive grown before had this long shape. There are quite a few more on the plant too and they all look like this.

This is the other one. I guess its pretty close in shape but it looks more gnarly than the MOA yellows i grew last year. The rest of the pods on this one are too small to make a guess yet.

This really isnt a complaint at all. I mainly wanted a red chinense with nice flavor when i ordered them...although.....i wasn't really wanting anything much hotter than a bonnet. I needed other seeds and just added them to try a MOA red.

Thats what i was thinking too. This plant is also the largest chinense ive grown. Just a beast for its age and lots of budding. It germinated at the same time as the other MOA seeds but out grew the other 2 fairly fast.

Whatever they are in the end, they sure look plenty hot to me so eat atleast 10 to take note what they taste like.

Ok, ive looked over every pic online i could find and took a really hard look at the pods on my plant. The pepper that appears to be a match is a Naga Morich. There are a 1 or 2 chocolates and some crosses that are also close. Pods on the other 2 MOAs look more like the MOA yellows i grew last year. Not your classic bonnet look but my MOAs from CCN didnt have that classic look either...not a single pod did but they did look like the pic on their website.

The reality is though:

I didn't really need 3 red MOAs. I got lucky with 100% germination. I was hoping for just 1 in the beginning.

I like surprises as long as it does not ruin other plans.

Ive likely got 1 more MOA than i planned and possibly a cool variety ive never tried before.

I can now probably make a sauce for one of the fire breathing idiots that always ask for a hotter sauce. :D

Life aint that bad and i like lemonade.

Those do look like Naga Morich, and if they are, I'd say that's a happy mistake because Nagas are delicious low-level Supers, and the plants tend to be hardy and productive.

Good luck with them!

I probably have a dozen or more pods already forming on that plant. It seems to like my climate. Nothing seems to phase it much. Only minimal flower loss so far and its been over 90F quite often this year. I have a ghost right next to that is in full bloom too. Im pretty sure the pods on it now popped before that ghost was blooming. I guess i will mark the largest pods with a loose fitting bread tie and just save those seeds.

Got a good look at the pods on my 2nd largest of the 3. Pods look correct to me and it has quite a few too.

And as luck would have it i got another mystery plant. I thought i had 2 Bell of Gollu in the same pot. The other day i noticed a off pheno pod but just sort of ignored it. Wellllll.....today i took a closer look and there are several longer pods. All those pods are on one plant and all the roundish pods are on the other.

Now, i got these from pepperlover and it might even be my fault. I got some free Malih Helow seeds with my order. On close inspection the mystery plant does look like a Malih Helow. I actually wanted to grow one of these but for whatever reason i didn't get around to it. Ive got 2 more of the bells in other pots so it works for me.
