vendor Most Trusted Online Seed Sources

Hello, I am looking for the most trusted online seed source for pure Carolina Reaper seeds. I keep hearing horror stories of people ordering seeds online and growing the plants only to have them be a completely different pepper than what it said it was. Can y'all give me a list of trusted seed sources that I can order from online? Is Pepper Joe trusted? Thank you.

Here are some of the seed vendors that I trust, listed in no particular order. If you check the customer feedback in the Vendor Vault, you will find more good vendors. Doing that should also help answer your question about Pepper Joe.

White Hot Peppers: https://www.whitehotpeppers.com/collections/all-pepper-seeds

You won't go wrong with any of these vendors, IMO. So take your pick.  :)

I am in the business.  We do sell seeds, but the great majority of our business is fresh peppers.  So I think I am in a good place to judge seed folk.  I have never been disappointing with the quality of stock or service from PepperLover.com.  I have also had great service and results from Jim Duffy / Refining Fire Chili.  From what I understand, his plugs are top notch as well.  I thought of Pepper Lover first because she breeds.  I am just scratching the surface of creating new varieties.  Pepper Love is someone I would bow to if we had a court of peppers.

1. I have had mixed results with Puckerbutt's seeds in the past. Just saying.

2. Some would say that if you truly want to get those genetics direct from their creator, you should go here: https://www.primospeppers.com/product-page/official-7-pot-primo-seeds

Now that there was funny.  But there is a good point to be had too.  When I need them, I buy primo from primo and butch t from butch t. Not only do you get the best dna, but it just seems right.  Results from both gentlemen have been fantastic.

With respect to the thing folk call the Carolina Reaper, I read many more complaints about seeds bought from Puckerbutt.  My guess is that the thing is such a success that they are not keeping good tabs on the breeding program.  It seems you can get better results with seeds from smaller merchants.  Not trashing on them for that though because anything mass produced goes that way.

I have heard of some people getting some other peppers from PuckerButt seeds, but mostly the right Carolina Reaper (from what I heard). Anyone here ever order seeds from Pepper Joe's?

yes I did.  seeds germinate very quickly (12 days).

I purchased a Carolina reaper seed collection from Peppersbymail not too long ago. I received at least 20 of the yellow, chocolate , peach and red varieties for only 10$ . Germination rates were stellar. Even got bonus seeds (btr and red bhutlah). 120 seeds in total.

White-hot seeds is my personal favorite. But great seeds From Butch T. His CPR and CMB are both highly underrated. Thanks for the Primo link. Gonna have to start some primos. Too bad David Capiello doesn't have a page like Primo and Butch. Growing reapers as well this year...we'll see how his Organic Reapers do. I got a few of them going. (I figured maybe they pay attention better to phenos in the organic grow.)

Just throwing it out there ... but I would never buy from a seed company (such as WHP) that sells non-isolated seed (I don't like surprises).  And who's to say that they didn't isolate a plant from the previous year's non-isolated grow and sell it as isolated.  Dude, if you want to sell or trade seeds - isolate them and don't try to pass them off as what they "should be" if you didn't!  This is one of the main reasons the original Reaper became so inconsistent, lots of crossed seeds out there.
I am fine with intentional crosses as long as I know what they are.
Rant over!

Juanitos Peppers! He is a grower here on THP and everything Ive purchased from him has excellent germination and the live plants had healthy root systems with strong stems, even after the shipping!
