A plan for those excess seeds

I've opened pods and counted over 80 seeds in a single pepper. Most of us don't need nearly that many of one type.

Suppose you, or several people in your area, find an open field or other suitable place to scatter the thousands of seeds you've amassed so you can return and see what, if anything, came of it. I think it'd be fun.

Heres a cool idea for you. Especially if you have kids.

We go on walks/hikes quite often when I'm not working crazy hours.  At times I'll bring some excess seed with me and step off the paths to spread them around.  Over the past few years I've successfully seeded peppers, ground cherries, asparagus, tomatoes and some squash out along trails not far from our house.  About half the stand of tomatoes got mowed down this year as the city put in a new kids play park, but when I walked by last week there were still about 40 plants already flowering.

Nice!

Also, I was collecting seeds from a Summer Kiss melon and wondering why so many trees don't produce fruit. They say you're supposed to plant another tree in one's place when one is cut down. Why not replace them with a tree that fruits?
