Hello from japan

Hi all, my name is Damian, currently stationed in Japan and taking a shot at growing hot peppers for the first time. I'm new to gardening and growing peppers in general and thus far it's definitely been an experience. The weather out here is unpredictable with typhoons and sun / cloudy days... to top it off living in military housing, i can only grow from my patio or indoors. Ill be making another post about my grow issues and progress !

How long of a growing season does Japan have? Will someone else take care of your plants if military reasons change your situation?

My understanding is feb-nov stays around the 60-90 range dec-Jan drops to around 50-55
This is my first year here but Ill report back when I know for sure !!
My wife takes care of them when Im not here. Luckily shes as interested as I am

Welcome! What peppers are you growing over there?
Started growing a salsa hybrid / habanada / Bulgarian carrot.
Im waiting on some ghost seeds from a local guy as the ones I purchased never germinated. Just started some golden habaneros and waiting on those to sprout

Welcome.
I lived in Japan (Yokohama) from 2008 - 2010.  I was a civilian working for the military.  I lived in a high-rise on the 38th floor with a small balcony.  I was not into growing peppers at that time so cannot give you any specific advice on growing peppers there.

Enjoy your time Japan.
