Not much of a South Tejas GLOG

I'm not a glog guy, but I'm bored today.  I moved from beautiful Traverse City Michigan to sun burnt Corpus Christi Tejas in August 2017, never got anything to get growing. I bought a few bhuts from a store to overwinter them, but my wife convinced me to throw them away.  In February 2018 I tried to get some 5yr old saved seeds to germinate, but had zero ever come up.  So I bought a few from a local nursery and ordered a few online.  I put them into a mix of buckets, smart pots, and laundry baskets I bought at a garage sale for .25 cents a piece.  I rigged up a shade to cover my peppers and my wife's failure of a sunflower garden. I have bhuts in red and yellow, red Moruga, reapers, naglah brown, and chocolate bhutlahs.

Everything is starting to really take off:

Pods are setting:

I'm not expecting much of a harvest until late September.  We've had some "cooler" weather the past few weeks, so that's why I think that a few pods have set. Most flowers are dropping as expected.  I water them around 7am and 7pm,  give them a bit of fish emulsion once a week.  So far, so good!

Cheers!

WIND!!!! Just got home last night, this morning is a huge howling wind storm. 2 plants blew over so I had to rig up some temporary lines to hold them until it stops blowing. I may have to keep them held in place for the rest of the season...

Congrats on the pull!

Your plants look great! Mine are a disaster. How much rain since Labor day? I'm over 32"s here :mope:

Not sure, but more than in a normal year for sure.  It's cold and wet today, it should be hot and dry. Tomorrow should be the start of a warming period, but will still be cooler than normal for this time of year.

Good day today, first big haul of the season!

Pretty happy with the plants, my season has really just started. The Moruga has still only given me 9 pods so far, and the other reaper hasn't put out much either.  But they are covered in peppers.

I started a few red rocotos for 2019, really hoping that they do well.  They'll be indoor plants as soon as the heat kicks in again.

Not going to happen today, it's raining sideways. All the peppers are ripe though, a couple hundred I guess. Should be enough to have powder for the next year
