Aji Charapita Peppers

I'm considering posting to the forums. I would really like some feedback for pricing. I have found only 1 listing online for the peppers for sale, not the seeds. I definitely won't be selling by the pound, we are a small family farm and we didnt plant too many of these. They would be whole dried pods. With nothing to compare it to I've hit a wall with pricing. Thanks!

Maybe get a small flat rate box and see how many fit in there. Determine how much you want for said box. I am sure people would like to try them, and the seeds will be an added bonus. If the price is right, I wouldn't mind getting a box.

The Aji Charapita aren't sold by them. These are pretty difficult to find for sale outside of seed form. So far this is the only listing I've found.

here's another listing     http://www.peppersbymail.com/product/fresh-aji-charapita-peppers-for-sale/
this person is a member here.

generally rare superhot peppers sold by the SmallFlatRateBox go for anywhere from 10-25 bucks average.
Aji Charapita are considerably smaller, and take more labor time to pick them all.   Surely they have more value then  :?:

i would not spend 100+ on a small box of pods even if they tasted like  :hot:  Froot-Loops. But i guess some people might

Maybe include them as fillers in the small spaces along with other pepper pods while filling box orders ?
or, if you enjoy them.  Just dry them and use them yourself on everything ya eat  :D

Why are these peppers being high priced again? Seeds are not hard to get, it's a very prolific grower, they don't taste that good (IMO) and they're seedy little buggers. What am I missing here??? Has anyone here paid the prices advertised?

Here is the thing, you can get a packet of chapa seeds for like 4 bucks. So the market is going to be flooded next year if not this year. I would probably say an even 20 bucks is reasonable. I suddenly put hot sauce on my Froot Loops.. Brilliant man that GIP. Cheers!

They aren't for sale at those prices currently though. It says they're trying to change the current prices to lower them to that price but they aren't actually in stock.

Thank you for that suggestion! These are very small and our harvest wouldn't be large enough to fill a SFRB. :)

I really don't think anyone would pay anywhere near this. These are just peppers that anyone can easily get the seeds for, and easily grow. You can even get them from Baker Creek seeds, and everyone and their mother gets their vegetable seeds from them nowadays. Anything can be the most expensive pepper in the world if you put that price on it...but that doesn't do anyone any good if no one buys it.
It's all bull...

Anyway...if you don't know what price to sell them at, just run an auction, and let the buyers dictate the cost.

Apologies Ashley, I didn't realize how small they were. I can see how they would be difficult to harvest at that size. Would like to purchase a few pods to send to a special gal.
