How do you use your Hungarian Hot Wax?

I just love growing things and now I have hundreds of HHW peppers.

My family won't touch them. They're way too hot to pickle for spaghetti sauce.

I don't want to waste food...what do you guys do with them?
 
Make hot sauce
Make jam
Dry and grind
Make a pot of chili and cook up some meals
Make candied peppers
 
Another +1 for candying. I think it's my favorite preservaton method. I got some lollipop molds so I may try to use those next time I candy jalapenos. I think it tones them down enough for non-pepperheads
 
I need to look into how to candy them.  Never done that.
 
Hot Pepper, I grew them because I didn't know where they were on the Scoville.  I thought because they looked like banana peppers they would be mildly spicy.
 
i sliced one into rings for last night`s salad. my family doesn`t like anything too spicy so i just grow them to eat myself. i slice them into rings along with Jalapenos and jar them up pickled. i also give some to my neighbor when he sees my harvesting and comments on how i have "a lot of nice looking peppers there". :banghead:  i will have to check out the candying thing also, it sounds good.
 
Weird thing is, the seeds from the very same packet (My Patriot Supply) were extremely mild last year.
That's why I was so surprised by how hot these are.
 
I've had similar experiences with HHWs; they seem to vary widely in terms of heat. One year, they were extremely mild, probably <2000shu. The next two years, they were at a Serrano++ level. Pods always looked the same, plants always produced a ton and, as I recall, all the pods from a given plant were on a very similar level...unlike, say, Jalapeños... Where you might get both burners and duds from the same plant within the same week.

I grew the HHWs for work, when I was jobcoaching at a little farm. I never really wanted to grow HHWs myself, even though I was impressed with their hardiness and productivity. Got or mild, I'm just not a big fan of their flavor. They do look rad, though.
