Is this the Carolina Reaper?

I'm over in Malaysia and I got a batch of seeds from the USA at the end of last year. Despite the great tropical weather in Malaysia, most of them didn't make it. The two photos here are of my first plant which is also the strongest and biggest. After many months of battling with fungus, aphids and inconsistent / unsuitable conditions, I finally have a batch of properly ripening fruits which don't look as if they're going to rot or fall off prematurely but they lack the curly tails of the pods which I've seen online of the Carolina Reaper.

If that's not what they are, then what do I have?

Doesnt look like anything my Carolina reaper pod looked like, your pods look more like some kind of Moruga scorpion or brainstrain type.

Oh dear, that sucks since it took so much time for me to see fruits. When do the tails develop? Are the tails already visible as the fruits develop or after they've ripened?

I see pictures of ripe Carolina reapers with or without the tail visible, so i guess even if your pods do not have the tail it doesnt mean it is not a Carolina reaper. Your pods looks very painful either way, so they should still be really hot stuff.

It looks like BTR. Reapers attack the throat and BTRs don't so you'll know when you eat one.

There's always a chance it's just an off pheno but that looks more moruga to me. The tails form wayyy before they ripen.
