Phil's 2018

So I've not long been on here although I've been a member of chillis galore for years. Here is the current state of affairs

Bonda mahala darker green pheno must have hundreds of pods on now

Sweet peppers have been like this for weeks and weeks. They are pretty shadowed now with other plants taking over the greenhouse

Nice looking plants .... the FreePort Orange SB grows in waves it produces many pods the size of a finger nail ( barren of seed) on the lower branches as the plant grows the better sized pods appear on the upper branches ... get rid of the little ones and the plant will concentrate on colouring up the bigger pods. Hopefully Simmy sorted you out with your Embassy Naga

Thanks trident. I've been picking and munching the small pods off the Freeport. Really nice pods but yes no seed just yet. Some bigger pods are appearing further up the plant. Simmy cleared everything up which is good. I'm normally pretty cautious with labelling so not sure what went wrong but hey ho.

Landscape fabric in containers...why have I never thought of that lol

Your plants like super, great work
Landscape fabric? I've got mulch sheets on top of the pots to prevent evaporation and deter pests from the soil if that's what your on about lol

Cheers reaping the rewards now. :)

Ah ok thought you were preventing weeds. I get quite a few trees that try to grow in my pots at they drop seed in the spring

Naa I grow in quadgrows in a greenhouse so don't have problems with weeds or trees lol. It's a wick based system so using a mulch mat helps reduce the amount of water evaporating. And helps prevent the likes of fungus gnats and co.

Done some picking this morning. There's a definite taste difference and heat difference in the bonda mahalas. The light green pheno are hotter but have a much fruitier taste.

Had 5 mins spare yesterday so picked some ripe pods. 600g picked so far of 7pot yellow, 1kg of naga morich, 700g bonda mahala dark green, 400g of Freeport bonnets. Still loads left on the plants too.
