WHP 2018 Really Late Glog

Well, I am still alive somehow. This year has been most pressing on my time.  This is the first night in memory I have sat down before 10.  Figure I could start a crude glog, mostly pictures probably and not much writing.  Its been the busiest year ever for me, for everything in life really, from peppers to family to other projects and the real job.   I have tried to keep up on some media, but couldn't all.  I am hopeful with the tapatalk app I can update this easier.

Anyway the grow is smaller again than last year but still above 250 plants, but less than 300.  I have had a few loss and take a few out I lost interest in, so not sure the exact count.  Some are producing at rates I have no seen before, others just average.  I'll start with some more recent pics and work my way around, as I get time.

I hope to find a few minutes here and there to catch up with a few glogs and post once in a while now that I finally got this done.  Sorry to all those I have not been able to keep in contact with very much.

Still one of my all time favorites - and they are killing it again this year.  Peach Bhut WM from Wicked Mike originally.

Another favorite pepper - Congo Trinidad Giant Yellow - some really tasty big yellow meaty pods.

These are still an unknown.  I assume they have reaper or primo in their background.  This was a mislabel or plant mix up last year, so not even sure what it was supposed to be.  I called it WHP 006 one of the accidents and unknons.  This year they are growing about the same, some of the angriest looking pods I have.

Thanks. Here is some skinny pods of the pink tiger x peach bhut you crossed. I should have some real lookers this fall, my pods are much bigger, these were grown by a friend. The second wave of mine I think will have some great colors with all the pods high up in the plants they are seeing a lot of sun.

Those look great man, I'm glad you got something cool from them. I'll have to grow some next season, I think I have a few dozen seeds left of that one. Cheers

What are those last two?
Next to last was a bbg7 peach that didn't have a bbg7 big calyx. 2nd hottest pepper I have tried this year which is unusual for a peach. Its brutal, pretty bitter though but great looking pods. Last one is a peach bhut wm x jonah. It's an f1, about half the pods have stinger, really nice pepper.

Awesome pods and pics as usual Justin. How are those solid gold bhuts doing? Did not see pictures of them in recent times.

Very nice, especially the 1st and third picture.  What are they?
Agreed. Lovin' that third pic! Is that Bum's cross? Pink Tiger x Peach Bhut? I also like that BBG7 Peach (no calyx). I'm guessing that 2nd pic is Brown Egg. It looks Chinense. Great looking pods, Justin!

Yes, this is his Pink TIger x Peach Bhut, I picked quite a few over the weekend but I fear some needed to ripen a bit longer.  Seems they are keeping more of the purple in the fall, but they are taking longer to ripen.  I think most when fully ripe will be more orange, but the go peach on the way.  Yes, your right about brown egg.  That no calyx peach bbg7 is a great looking pepper, but that is it for me.  Some of them have had some great shapes.  They are insanely hot.  Tastes like pure capsaicin to me.  It's probably the 2nd hottest pepper I have sampled this year only being beat by a jigsaw x moruga.

1st is bahamian beast, probalby a great example to wait to give soemthing a name.  The f1 pods were huge, and now they are relatively small but the shapes on this years plants were consistent like this.  Still unstable as hell, but its progressing.  The third one is pink tiger x peach bhut.

Great pods Justin .... some really nice shapes especially the first and last pods
The first are the f3 of the bahamian beast.  I got great phenos with consistent shapes in red and peach this year.  I am sure they are unstable.  I don't know if I mentioned before, but I have a friend in Italiy that grew 900 plants of these this year in a greenhouse.  He has some bigger phenos, hopefully getting back the beast mode a bit.  These I have were much smaller than before.  I have a big mustard one.  But my Italian friend has I think every color except maybe orange and yellow.  The white looks amazing, its got that classic bahamian goat shape and looked sizeable.  The last pick is yellow brain strain.  My container plant is just loaded finally and putting out some great shapes.  Hopefully if I can get 3 or 4 more weeks before freeze witll get some more good picks from it.

They are great and the most irritating pepper at the same time.  I am color blind and I can't the proper ripe color very well.  I have picked some that weren't ripe.  i am now waiting until they are almost mushy on the plant to pick them. There is still some really impressive pods on the plant.  I will probably grow again even though I can't see them.  They taste great, even better than they look.

Orekoc hit it right on the head. I have an entire binder full of seeds and still keep getting more. I can only grow so many in my little space. But I must have them all! Lol.

I always like to see how your pods look every year, Justin, and I'm always blown away! They're huge! Man, you grow some beautiful peppers! And take beautiful photos as well. Nice work!

You are really kickin' it this season, Justin!
Great looking pods, interesting varieties!

  Here's to a great finish to the
2018 season, my friend!
