Topping Cherry Tomatoes

My dad is growing cherry tomatoes and they are touching the top of his greenhouse and continuing to grow, but haven't ripened any fruit yet and our season is going to end soon. If we topped the plants would they stop growing and instead focus on its current fruit? Or would it die?

No, topping them won't kill them. There are probably more than a few suckers that will continue to grow. As for the existing fruit, if they have had adequate sun and have been in the ground for at least 2 months, they should ripen.

They have been in the ground since mid-June and do get lots of sunlight. Most of the tomatoes a quite small still and they keep putting out more flowers. There are around 6 sets of flowers on each plant but nothing has ripened yet. Our season is going to be over mid-September so I would like the plants to stop growing and focus on the fruit.

Just give them a little more time.  I think they'll come around.  Tomatoes are fickle.  They want the soil to be a certain temperature when they're planted, another when they're growing during the day, then another temperature by night,.  Lots of moisture, but not too wet.  Tons of foliage, but not too much or a fungus will set in, too little and you'll get sun scalded fruit.  Are they in the greenhouse, or outside it?  If they are outside, you can extend the growing season by the use of a frost blanket.....What variety is he growing?
