Yellow Devil's Tongue from Pepper Lover

Peppers are ripening to orange instead of yellow. Much thinner skin and very bumpy pods compared to the description from the website. Typical pheno is very symmetrical and you can see some of the unripened pods below. Lots of oil inside not just the placenta. I had an 1/8th inch cross section: has a nice juicy pepper taste followed by an explosion of pineapple/citrus/tropical flavor in my mouth (exceptional flavor IMO) then an intense and painful heat hits hard and lasts about 10 minutes before tapering off. Made my ears sweat. I would have been in some serious pain had I eaten more. Much hotter than a scotch bonnet and hotter than the ghost and Trinidad scorpion I made jerk chicken last week with. Any ideas what this YDT might have crossed with?

Looks like a Devil's Tongue Yellow to me..

Except its deep orange like a habanero and not yellow? this is the pheno from their website. my pods are not thick walled, they are much more symmetrical and they are a lot more bumpy almost like the skin on a brain strain (which is admittedly hard to capture well on my camera).

My devils tongue is bright yellow! and its been fantastic! My favorite pepper, love that taste and great heat.

My peppers have very thin skin, lots of oil, and tons of heat.

Well, at least in the pictures they look the same colour to me. Pepperlover's picture also looks kinda orangey to me. The pheno difference could be due to environmental factors, and according to Olsenbk above me, it's supposed to have thin skin. On Pepperlover's website, it says 'think walls', which I guess is a typo. I think they meant to say thin, because later on in the sentence they mention the pods are easy to dry.

Edit: Not saying your observations are wrong by the way, just sharing my thoughts.

My yellow devil's tongue from a couple of years ago was yellow-orange, with a medium wall, lots of bumps and a pretty intense burn.

I think you got exactly what it says on the tin.
