Any idea?

I got this is a six pack of ghost peppers or Reapers, but it is not like any of the others. Any help with identifying would be great.

The calyx doesn't look similar though. Chinenses normally have constricted calyxes like on your picture of the White Ghosts, but in OP's picture the calyxes are more similar to those of Annuums.

If it came in a six pack I'd say it probably is an accidental cross.

To be honest I've always wondered what part of the stem to pod "transition" is considered the calyx as it differs wildly between species and even within a species. Case in point, a pair of annuums, bell and cayenne.

Now I know these are two different pod types which obviously would influence the "shape" of the calyx but therein lies the rub, what about chinense?

So in the two pix above an arrow points to the calyx but I see the constriction in two different areas, you? In the top pic the constriction appears under the sepals and in the bottom above? Again, two different pod types so is that the influence, dunno?

As always, YMMV... NECM
