Does anyone here grow garlic and have an opinion as to what type to grow.Going through monster amounts between salsa and speghetti sauce. Thanks for any advice.

I love Music garlic. Large bulb and very flavorful.

Garlic is one of the easiest things to grow, but it takes about 10 months to grow.

I have Gnildir's "Fireball Garlic" pickled with Bhuts....does that count?

Sure wakes up the pasta.. ;)

Garlic is so cheap to buy here, it's not worth growing really.

Growing some Wild garlic ( or Ramsons) and some Garlic Solent Wight,The wild is amazing to use for cooking but goes a little crazy and grows really fast

Ooops, that reminds me that I was going to plant my garlic this month. I almost forgot about it - thanks!!!!!

Ramsons is great! But take care to harvest the leaves before it blooms. And it tends to invade the whole yard.

Which variety do you grow?

What little I know about garlic is that colder areas need to grow hard neck because it keeps longer in storage. We changed the garden around so I don't have any garlic planted this year.

My grandmother made the best pickles with whole garlic cloves in the jar. The garlic was better than the pickles!

Yes it is a bit rampant

Yeah. Harvesting it all and taking care of the harvest before it blooms can be hard sometimes. I love ramsons soup and cream cheese with ramsons. Did you try to combine it with peppers? Which combine best? I could imagine that straight hot ones like cayenne with a not so fruity flavor might work best.

Thanks for all the input and will try it out.Going through better than 20 cloves a weekend any help is great.Have a great one.
