Pods starting to mold!

I wouldn't worry too much. The very first ripening pods often have some kind of defect, which causes them to ripen first. Insect damage etc. Mold seems to be a fact of life growing Chiles. I processed a couple hundred fresh picked wiri Wiri the other day and ended up with about 10 with mold inside, that looked perfect before I cut them.

About a third of my ripe Aleppos are coming off the plant perfectly sound on the outside and moldy to the point of unusable on the inside. We had a rough season here, humidity, moisture, temperatures all a-kimbo...

I had some rotting pods this year as well. Some on the outside with soft spots, and some that looked perfect, but full of mold on the inside.
