chinense Are these really all Reapers?

I grew 16 varieties of peppers this summer, the hottest being ghost peppers. However, I just found these superhots sold as "The Reaper" at a supermarket chain. The shape varies quite a bit from the classic reaper look. Are these really all reapers? If any of you have grown reapers, do they vary in shape and texture this much? What else could these be? The smooth ones (two of them near the quarter) look a bit like Trinidad Scorpion Butch Ts, and some of the others look like they could be 7 Pot varieties, Moruga Scorpions, or even ghost peppers. Thoughts?

So you're confident they're all actually carolina reapers, then?

The package I bought had better shapes then yours. Their ghost peppers were definitely questionable I bought.

I have noticed that even the best growers are getting a pretty wide variety of phenotypes when they grow Carolina Reapers. Seeing a quart of them at a grocery, is expect to see a bunch of different shapes represented.

You can bet that the outside selling these won't dare to market them as "Carolina Reapers," because Ed would sue them. I suspect that's why they're just simply labelled as Reapers. Even then, i bet they'll get a cease & desist letter.

Are they really Reapers? I couldn't say, but you appear to have bought a little box of red Supers at a local market. That's pretty nice, regardless of the details

Thanks for the info. Like you said, Reapers or not, I am pretty pumped to find these!
