Do you care about knife marks on your cutting board?

For this reason are you careful when you cut? Do you have a smaller board for cutting daily things to keep your main board nice? Or do you have an end grain board which does not show cut marks?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Decorative.

I use a nylon cutting board on top of my cutting board if I want to cut anything.

I'd rather just have a regular one. I feel like those would fit in Bud Fox's apartment when Daryl Hannah was messing it all up

If you don't cut on it, it is a piece of fancy wood, not a cutting board.

Your poll needs another option.

It's a cutting board FFS. * Full stop*

who gives a crap about cutting board character, everyone knows its all about the knives

Pretty sure Lowe's has plastic carpet runners and furniture covers to protect that stuff too.

I have 4 cutting boards, 2 large cheap wood ones and 2 smaller plastic/vinyl. All of them get bleached.

Boss, you shopping for goodies for the new kitchen?

I have 2 large and 2 small ones, all plastic. They go in the dishwasher then into the cabinet. I don't see the need to have a nice cutting board without cuts in it to show off. If you have it then use it.

Me: Nice cutting board, is it new or you just can't cook?

No I cook and use it some.

Me: Why do you leave it in the open to collect dust and let flies shit on it?

SL, I have a dark walnut Boos. Don't worry it has scratches, but the first one is like the first scratch on your new car, after that it's fugggg it lol.

The end grain "heal" because you don't cut into them, you open the grain and it closes.

Unless you buy that weird Q*bert one where you'd be cutting diagonal.

Mike is ordering one right now

I was considering a small little cutting board for simple things like making a sandwich and cutting a tomato, where you don't have to wash the big board. But that's the main reason not the cutting marks. I always used to have 2, I had the maple, and the small little "plastic" one or whatever. So just shopping around for a good small one. Amazon is full of crap. Fake reviews on all this Chinese stuff you never know what to buy, so I try to stick to brand names.

Boss. I have been using this for couple of years now. Holding well. Does not scratch (except if you force a serrated knife into it while cutting bread etc).

Flexible. Easy to transfer contents from the board to pan since it bends. Takes less space in dishwasher and storageas I can roll it and place it in.
