Hello All!
Just joined the site and wanted to follow through with the intro.
I am from southwest Virginia and I am new to Hot Peppers.
I was at an Asian market this summer and the people that owned the market were from Cambodia.  They obviously had green thumbs since their parking lot was full of different plants.  Part of these plants were 5 gallon buckets with beautiful plants with red peppers growing straight up instead of down.  I bought a bucket and brought it home and it produced all summer.  Quite plentiful as a matter of fact.  Well they were hot!  I mean hotter than some cayennes that we were growing but we loved adding them to our menu.  We even made some fresh Thai Sweet Chili sauce that is awesome!!
OK, I don't have any medical proof but I have seen a huge reduction in my GERD since we have been incorporating these chili's in our meals.
I have ordered seeds from several companies and a lot of different varieties.  It is fall so we can't start many but after hearing that some of the hot varieties can take a while to germinate, we started some Datil's, some Sweet Datil's and some Yellow Scorpion seeds using a heat mat.  The Hot Datils are up and running so they will need pruning back to keep them for spring but no luck at all on the Yellow Scorpion's or the Sweet Datils.
Anyway, I'm typing way too much.  Just wanted to say Hello and I look forward to this journey into pepper/chillis.
I hope y'all don't get tired of newbie questions!  I'm sure I'll have plenty.
