contest Growdown Throwdown 2019 Sri Lanka - Chilli Red!

I'm not dawdling as much as last year, though I'm kinda thinking I needed a bigger dose of diesel per watering. I still only have one up, and the others I put in a cup with paper towel to germ are doing absolutely nothing.

My single SLCR seedling moved up to a solo cup today, and is enjoying it's first taste of Florida sun on a warm overcast day.

It has been making me sad how slow it was to put out it's true leaves, but during transplant I realized it had been putting quite a bit of effort into it's root system.

You made sure to use an old dirty knife right?

Sure did, the rust adds color and weight to the peppers

Pruning aint never won anyone a contest in yield! buahahahaha you done messed up already
Oh but it will Daniel-son because the last one I didnt prune yielded 1/10 the peppers that my pruned one yielded. More grow site means more pepper locations, plus Im ahead enough that I gotta sandbag a little

Once your light is right (the sun) the plants know what to do. Pruning won't do anything once all plants are made equal under the sun. I dare you to try that experiment with a couple of these if you want.

Don't get me wrong, pruning has its place for indoor growers needing to stall stretch, save light penetration space, etc, but once outdoors...all bets are off. I've done every pruning experiment you can think of. Low stress training, sog, topping bla bla - The plants know exactly what to do and how to grow in their natural fractal habit.
No amount of pruning will ever get this many grow sites:

Go to pruning this and you just stall it from doing what it needs to do anyway. As a grower we just make sure the soil is right, the light and water is right and step out of the way. Pruning is a novelty to pass the time indoors.

Besides, these are programmed to respond horribly to pruning. In fact, I'm updating your algorithm as we speak. Please ensure you're near wifi for the next few hours.
