contest Growdown Throwdown 2019 Sri Lanka - Chilli Red!

Okay, I am choosing my Growdown fantasy
league team, and I take Edmick as my first
choice!
I appreciate the compliment but I dont do anything too fancy. Good soil, good nutes and good lighting. I do have one secret weapon though that's never let me down. Hint: bigger root mass=bigger plants..

These suckers certainly like shoots don't they?

So I, uh, got a sprout that might be SL Red. It should shed its helmet at some point today.

One of my Tainted Ones in its experimental Kratky home is the closest I've gotten to actually being in the contest:

Shoot.  I think I see its reflection in the TV and it looks off-pheno.  Bummer.  Better toss it and try again

I mean, if it's not off-pheno, a lot of people here can make sweet, sweet love to themselves for making the usual intentional bad advice sound way too convincing...  :P

Your Kratky bottle turned out great!

Thanks! Really pleased with it. I have five of the small hybrid-earmarked ones now, with three plugs germinating test seeds for those. Hoping they work well for germination, which would make the whole process extremely simple.

Yeah it did!  Will be cool to see the "tainted SL" grow out in it.  I'm interested to see what comes of these crossed plants. This one looks quite different than my off-pheno  SL.  It shows more branching and mine's leaves look more chinense.  This one doesn't seem nearly as "off."

Looking forward to seeing the much-vaunted Kratky speed in action. Since everything else is now either in coir or going outside, maybe I'll start shifting towards hydro more and see what kind of DIY DWC I can piece together without breaking the bank or excessively angering my wife. First, though, gotta nurse the big plants back to health after their haircut and try to avoid killing too many of the ones I'm subjecting to rip-off-the-band-aid hardening.

Well I read that some time ago, and have noticed they seem to go most often to the nice dark green Annuums, which seem to enjoy the N.

So I did a quick Google and here's some info from one site : http://ipm.ucanr.edu/PMG/PESTNOTES/pn7404.html

They mention it further down the page. Another thing is the tiny black ants that mine the critters for their nector? I use Terro for the ants anytime and Neem oil when inside , or when they just get crazy.
