Contemplating selling my Handy Filler

I know a few people on the forum use a handy filler. Those of you that do, do you have the full set up with a hopper and stand?

I bought this one a few months ago: https://handyfiller.com/product/vpf108-sl/

The (VPF108-SL)

I did not get any accessories, only used it twice, and then moved on to a copacker. I still needed an additional person to help me with the handy filler to keep the hose in the pot - which I'm assuming was because I didn't have the complete set up. Aside from that it was awesome, but I personally hated making sauce and I prefer to just cook alone when it comes down to it. I will probably always resort to my copacker now anyways. To give background, I used to to bottle my habanero hot sauce in 5 oz glass woozy bottles.

What are your guys' opinion? I haven't listed it yet, but if I do I'll probably just sell it for $250 plus shipping.

Have you used it to bottle sauce at 180+ degrees?  They state in the description it's only for stuff below 180.  That's the only reason I haven't bought one yet, but if you've had success with it I may reconsider.

Yeah I had no issues with my sauce and I bottled it at around 200 degrees F. This was a concern of mine as well so I had reached out to them prior and asked them since I have to hot fill my hot sauce over 180 degrees F as well.

This was their exact email response to me when I asked them if the handy filler could handle temps over 180 degrees (which I'd be happy to forward over to you via email if you'd like):

"Hi Kevin,

I've actually boiled all the pertinent parts of our VPF108SL for over an hour and it all held up great. Nothing at all melted. So 200 degrees will still be fine.

Thanks, Jon "

The only thing I would add is that the hose on mine is stained orange from my sauce, but that's because I use turmeric in my sauce so it stains almost everything but aside from that it's perfect. If you do want to see it just shoot me a message and I'll take pics and a video for you.

Hrm, well that's good to hear.  Does your sauce have seeds?  How does it deal with those?  My sauce is pretty chunky.  It looks like there are a few options, I assume you got the one with the "FDA silicone seals"?  Also I assume you used the standard 5 oz woozie bottles?  How much are you asking?

My sauce does have seeds because I use both whole habaneros and jalapeños but I pulverize everything in a blender so the sauce is really emulsified (smooth not chunky).  Although my sauce isn't chunky, my sauce is still pretty thick and definitely not watery because I do not strain anything. If your sauce is really really thick, then it might not be the best option for you but it can still handle a good amount of thickness. For example, You have to smack my woozy bottles to get the sauce out when first opened to give you a perspective of the thickness of my sauce. According to their website, it should be able to handle products with chunks, grains or seeds up to 1/8″ in diameter.

When I used the handy filler, I only had an issue towards the end of my bottling session when I was left the the VERY thick remainder of sauce at the bottom of the pot. Basically the lever that you have to pull would start to have a some resistance towards the end of my bottling session because the sauce at the bottom of the pot was VERY thick since the sauce is extremely reduced by that point, which is why I say if your sauce is really thick then it could be an issue but I personally think you will be fine, but you know your sauce best.

I dd choose the one with FDA silicone seals and yes, I use standard 5 oz glass woozys (not wide neck ones). I am asking for 250 + shipping, but I will create a formal post in the appropriate thread shortly.
