Mattys first ever Glog "Into the fire" 2019 season

Hello everyone and thanks for looking at my "Into the Fire" Glog!!

So I started my gardening hobby in my early 20's about 16 years ago now, and though I have played around with many types of flowers/vegis  tomato's is what most of my energy was put into. I loved alll the different colors and types that could be grown which really reminds me of all the exciting Chilli variety's that exist today. A couple seasons ago while looking for some info on a particular type of sweet pepper I stumbled onto a few videos of some people eating super hots (Ghost,Reapers ect..).  After looking into it a little more I figured this would be a very interesting thing to grow even just as a novelty since really no one in my area grows much if anything at all.

Last Winter I went and bought some seeds from Ebay..one was a mixed bag Ghost/Reaper/Scorpion...another was the Peter Pepper and the third was some type of Thai i believe. Only the Thai ended up growing true to type and the other 2 was a Cayenne and Ornamental. I was pretty disappointed when they did finally start putting out pods. It was around that time I started looking for a group or forum dedicated to Chillis, and luck would have it I found THP and all of you fantastic peoples.

Anyways with the boring back story outta the way I really planned ahead for this years grow....I built a 6'Hx6'Lx2'D grow box (not exact mesurments) which has 3 shelves and the middle one able to come out if I wnated to grow larger plants from the bottom tier. I went overkill on seed types making 3 decent size buys, 2 of which were 30+ from Garth at TexasHotPeppers and a smaller one from a fella in Arz.

I do not plan to grow all of these as my wife would kill me, but 20 or so might not be so bad.

Will also get some pics up shortly here of my grow box which still has one more shelf I need to wire up just waiting on a few more strip lights to arrive in the mail, but will still give an idea of what it will all look like when its done.

In final: This is a new hobby for me within the hobby I already enjoy...I am going to try some new things (new for me) and even the much earlier starts then normal will be interesting to see how it all comes out at the end.  I look forward to the input from the community and keeping this glog updated as much as I can.

Here is too success in 2019!!

Not to make this entire page aboot cannabis, but I would shy away from feminized and auto flower seeds if you ever do grow your own. I read a pretty good post on it here actually.

But yeah between the legality, and the fact that sellable Cannabis is seedless, it makes for some really high prices per seed.

So I started growing superhot peppers instead

A Michigan relative grew legal medical cannabis for many years. He always used feminized seeds and he always grew outdoors. His marijuana and his oils border on lethality.

My wife came home with a present from a friend of hers at work for me last night, was a small bag and had a few edibles in it. 1 piece of chocolate which was 50mg THC, a gummie with 60mg THC, another gummy that was 10mg thc and 20 mg CBD and the final gummy had 20mg cbd.

We had dinner then afterwards I had a piece of chocolate for desert and flipped on the hockey game. It took a good hour or more but ended up pretty ripped, alot more then I thought I was gonna be at least which was fun.

Anyways it was in everyone best interest I stayed off the computer so I didn't get my pics put up.

Here are a few topped plants, which most of them are seeing their first shots at stardom on the THP glogoshpere. I can only remember what 3 of them are from the pics..... :high: :high: :high:

First 3 are BB7 white's..all 3 were in pretty rough shape untill I topped them and seem to be coming around, hopefully they continue to get better.

Next one is Tepin X Lemon Drop, which I topped awhile back now just tossing it in here

Last few no idea what they are without diggin them off the shelf again.

I need to take plants off the top shelf later today and do some watering.....I think I may off over fertilized the past couple weeks so next few I will just go with water. I also took out a few lights up top to lower the intensity and the extra fan's I added have really helped keeping the temps down. Think this should help them make a better run here in the next month and a half before plant out.

Plants are looking good [emoji106]. Here’s a question for ya,eh ,if Canadian bacon (down here in the states) is called called Back Bacon, up there in the Great White North. What do you call Canadian Geese, Eh. [emoji16]
Matty, you are one of the “official translators, ambassadors“ eh

Not claiming that feminized seeds can't produce good marijuana at all. I've grown plenty myself.

In my experience though, even Cannabis cup winning fem seeds produce hermaphrodites in pretty solid numbers.

BUT that was 10 years ago, when breeders were begging for their plants to hermie so they could produce the highly sought after feminized seeds. Submerging their plants in 5 gallon buckets of colloidal silver and such. I'm sure they have stabilized the technique a little by now.

Depends where you live in the country tbh....You will get alot of people who will call it a plain ole goose but we do have a few other geese species that are common on each of the coast or the northern regions so its not uncommon to also call them Canadian Geese.

I believe they still use the Coll silver methods but your not supposed to smoke those plants of course after its jsut for the seeds you harvest from them. Is a couple other methods I have seen as well but the main way is that particular one I believe.

I was more jsut curious about the seeds really since they did not have any other information in their listing, I have very minimal experience growing cannabis , so not so sure I want to put any effort into trying to grow anything that is worth smoking at this point, but who knows eh.

So top shelf watering day as I mentioned up top...I think things are looking a ton better then 4-5 days ago or so,. I really should of watered last night so did have abit of leaf drop, but it also could of been from the stress they had the  last week or 2 since all the leaves that remain look a ton better.

Pic of a pretty dark foliage plant...what is it?? your guess is as good as mine since the tag fell off awhile ago.

Few shots of the bottom shelf with the bells/marconis  and all the maters, of which they are growing very very fast so will need to pot up sooner then laters eh.

So those bottom lights are not the greatest but they seem to be doing ok and so far no stretching...mind you there is a shat ton of bulbs down there  but still.

Okies.....so will try and take a few more shots of the chillis as I start to put them back up in awhile...just letting them dry before I do since I gave them a foliage shot as well.

Drop as in 'Drop the seeds after tossing them all over from a trip?' Orrrr Drop as in planted some??

Cause the answer is just Yes

But I have some bb7 midnight that are pretty dark as well but thought they were accounted for   I really liked how the Blue Fawn looked so I did try and get a bunch to germ  but after the 'Incident' with the couch walking in front of me....again....I think I only got 2 outta the 10 seeds sadly. But would be sweet if it was one of the mystery seeds that did come up . Think I have maybe 8-9 plants at least I have no idea what they are, can be sure of a few identification questions or threads.

I was going for the latter, but whatever gets the job done.  Would be something if with everything else you have going on you had "dropped" seeds growing up through the floorboards

It looks a lot like some yaki I've seen, but I'm sure it looks like a lot of things.  Main thing is it looks great!

Some plants are doing really good, and others are not so much. I know its my own fault though, they dont have much room with so many plants, so I am creating issues all on my own.

Anyways I think I got things abit better for them and did some trimming to help move some air through the shelves, the extra fans is pulling its weight so far.

This does have me intrigued   Though it sure would attest to the uncleanliness of my home if it were to happen..Yikes!

This could be 8-10 different types of chillis, and some were even mystery Ebay stuff , so I just dumped the whole packs in.

+1 GPR, your grow is really rockin', Matty.
That dark foliage plant looks like a purple
Scotch Bonnett!

Devv said:
I'm siding with Paul, the purple plant has the growth habit of an MoA or a P. Dreadie.

Good work Matty!

It very well may be an MOA, since I planted all the seeds I had for that as well.

But for the mystery plants, as long as they continue to be healthy and keep on the good growth like they have been, they will get some preferential treatment when it comes time to decide who goes into the ground, and who gets the last few potting spaces available.
