Part 2 of 2 Grow Test of 27-Gallon Kratky Method Totes

Here is Part 2 of 2 of the video series that I did featuring non-circulating hydroponics,
also known as passive or Kratky method. In this video I am showing the test results
using a Tumbler Hybrid F1 dwarf tomato plant. (WORKED ON SEVERAL PEPPER VARIETIES ALSO)
In the time lapse, you will get to see the plant and also the root growth.

Do you open the totes regularly to freshen the air inside? Or is that volume calculated also?
I made a rather ham-fisted yet moderately successful attempt at DWC almost 20 years ago and was always reluctant to open the tub for fear of introducing.. I'm not sure what. Something bad. I figured I was creating such favorable conditions and mold will grow on a loaf of bread just opening the bag every so often.. Were those fears overblown, you think?
This really interests me. "Lazy" is an ugly word, but I'm into low-maintenance.

No need to open the lid. Remember the saying that nature hates a vacuum?
Air finds a way of being pulled into the tote as the nutrient level drops.
This is the most hands off way of hydroponic gardening that I've found.
Also, I have not found any issues removing and replacing the lid.
