Well, time to start the indoor and outdoor vegetable garden glog for 2019. This will include container and Kratky growing. To get the ball rolling (as I wait for Spinach seeds to germinate), I noticed this morning that my Konan Kohlrabi has popped out of the dirt, they were sown 4 days ago. They will go into Kratky as my test Kossak Kohlrabi last year in Kratky grew to 7+ pounds. This is a slightly smaller growing variety to as usual, we will see how it goes!

In your Experiance, how long does it take to grow kohlrabi in a kratky setup to harvest? What is your best use for it too?

I was -just the other day- looking at your last year's glog with the volleyball kossaks. The production time was really short in kratky, less than 3 months IIRC. Roots like mad too.

Yes, I found last year that the large variety I tried(Kossak) was less than 90 days but could have been harvested anytime after 60 days. I would guess that the standard size white or purple varieties would be approx 50 days. I have these also sown so I guess I will find out. Here pics of the beginning and end of last years kossak(with dates) that was in Kratky. As for uses, You can eat it raw, cook it, can it, pickle it(you can do a type of pickle ferment in honey.....it is good). This year I will try to make kohlrabi krout and kohlrabi type of kimchee. I also freeze dried some last season for long term storage.

On the left is Sweetie Baby Romaine Lettuce, on the right is Renees Gourmet Kohlrabi, and in the center was my OLD Iceberg Lettuce that apparently is no longer viable.☹️ Anyway, these will be going into Kratky.

Prepping a new Kratky home for some of the Konan Kohlrabi.

I look forward to making jokes about the romaine and kohlrabi growing like they're on kratky. That's too bad no kratky heads of lettuce. Gotta get some new seed so you can fulfill that kratky addiction. Yep good old Kratky kokaintky. Come on, these are funny jokes.

Let the jokes fly, all in good fun. Now I got a mess to clean up because my sides split from laughing and my guts fell out! I dug through my seed box and found some Bibb Lettuce so I will try that today. No doubt about the addiction. Maybe I should start a dedicated Kratky thread.

I grabbed a few packets from renee's garden this year. Some weird strawberries, loofah, and those sweet snacking peppers
I get mine from one of the hydro shops that i frequent. There are usually a couple of interesting things in that rack. Good luck with yours.
