wogx 2019

Hey! Few months ago I posted a little sneak peek in a different topic, now it's the time to start the 2019 season thread. I spent a lot of time last year crossing different varieties with each other, in result I harvested seeds from 92 crosses. At 06.01 I sowed these crosses + 30 other varieties. That number seems to be huge at first glance, but I am convinced that many of them will not sprout, because not all crosses are viable. In 2018 ~60% of my crosses didn't sprout. Some of these crosses were repeated but parents were replaced with each other (variety Y pollinated with Z pollen is another cross than variety Z pollinated with Y pollen). Two plants of each variety will be planted in the ground. The main goal for this season will be to check which traits of different varieties will dominate in F1 generation.

Shortlist of varieties for this season:

Thanks @heefy, do you mean the info about parents of these crosses? That's right. Maybe in the future i will say more about them. On the back of my head I've got a thought about a community grow project in next season, personally I will not be able to fully exploit the potential of so many crosses. Maybe there will be some hands willing to help me with them?  :rolleyes: There are mild, hot and superhot crosses, everyone will find something interesting on that list  :)

Put me on the list, sir  :D

Today, two weeks after sowing i've checked the seedbeds. I've discovered that 31 crosses didn't sprout. Seeds were rotten or covered with mold. I submit a list of these crosses below:

WGX 072 F1 (Aji Cito x Jalapeno Conchos) F1
WGX 074 F1 ("Tabasco" x (Lemon Drop x Pasilla Bajio F1)) F1
WGX 076 F1 (Bhut Jolokia Yellow x Jalapeno Brown) F1
WGX 081 F1 ("Kitchen Pepper Peach" x Ubatuba Cambuchi) F1
WGX 082 F1 (Jalapeno Conchos x Aji Cito) F1
WGX 084 F1 (Jalapeno Conchos x Ubatuba Cambuchi) F1

The only stable variety which didn't germinate was Habanero Orange. I am satisfied with the germination ratio, 61 viable crosses (out of 92: ~66%) is a good result in my opinion.

@PaulG @SpeakPolish - I will remember about you  :)

That's one hell of a list

Thanks @HydroPepper, I wanted to make it a big thing  :P

Two other crosses wilted meanwhile - WGX 041 ("Tabasco" x Lemon Drop) and WGX 091 (Chinensis #2 x (Black Hungarian x Lemon Drop F1)). I've made a growth progress comparision three weeks after sowing. I divided it into three parts, because imgur had problems with one big post. I've put some hints about genetics of these crosses in these posts, so you can try to figure out something about parent plants  ;)
