D3monic Sauceworks 2019 Glog

Getting a really late start this year, still not even motivated but forcing myself to get some seeds started or else I'll be too late for anything this year.

Nice D3, just getting started today myself.

Looking forward to seeing your sauces again, you do an awesome job blending flavors.

Thanks Masher, got one bottle of the fermentator left. I haven't forgotten about you. I'll send some out next weekend.

Like always, I'm excited to see what you come up with. What's the lack of motivation from bub? Winter weather blues? The list looks good man.

Edit** BTW I'm seriously jealous of that seed filled binder, some day I'll get there lol. All mine are stuffed into a Gerber baby food container..

I get bored of hobbies pretty quick, I've been in this one for 3-4 years. That's usually my limit. Just doesn't hold the excitement that it used to. That and I'm so busy with my career that I just don't have the time to garden like I used to. Or at the bare minimum, don't have time to spend on the forums like I used to.

Well if you get bored, just hop on here and get some encouragement. I can only speak for myself but your posts are fun to follow. And if you want to unload some of the seeds, I'd be happy to purchase some of them. I look forward to following along and seeing what you come up with this season. You've inspired me to try a few new things with my grow. I hear ya with the work end of things, my business is very slow right now, come summer (and the government starting back up) work will get kinda hectic again. So I understand not really having time. Luckily I have a few minions who can tend to my garden when I can't.

Well the paper towel method was a bust for me. The paper towels drying out while the whole lid of the cup is completly moist from the evaporation. Having some mold pop up in some of the cups as well. That's what I get for trying something different. Makes me want to throw in the towel.

I was hoping to see you growing the PdNxBMJ
of Tristen's, but that's an awesome list of pepper
varieties!

Good luck getting your seeds going.  Hopefully,
Andy is right!

I let these pill things dry out, I added more water and a lot still sprouted. Don't be a quitter!

I picked up some new seedling trays and had the wife stop at target for some cammomile tea. Worse case I will toss the seeds that don't sprout and start over. I also got some rapid rooter plugs to try out. Going to do the plants I plan on putting in hydro in those so I can transfer right to the hydroton once the roots are showing.

They make trays that hold those rapid rooters up off the bottom of a 1020 tray, they you can already them down and keep water under them for humidity but not have them sitting in water. The guy I know that uses them has really good results.

Finally starting to get somen sprouts. Just so happen to be a couple hydro and crossing candidates.

Had some friends over the other night. Made some shortrib tacos with a citrus apple slaw that had wasabi, apple, jalapenos, some other stuff in there. Turned out really good.

Not going to be a good year for me, seedlings are doing terrible and half of the seeds I sowed didn't germinate. I'll be lucky to have a few dozen plants if that. I keep forgetting to water them and stuff. Hopefully get around to potting up and will relieve some of the watering needs.

Made a batch of steak sauce today. In no order

Mission figs
raisins
pummelo
El Scorponeros
lemon juice
orange juice
celery seed
pepper
homemade worcestershire sauce
tomato paste n puree
My pale ale reaper mustard - really good batch
balsamic vinegar
brown sugar
onion
garlic

Ran through the finest grate on my food mill but still a lot of tiny fig seeds.

That sucks about your plants , but that sauce looks awesome [emoji106]. I noticed you used homemade Worcestershire sauce, is that easy to make?
