Aji Oro

Got a buddy in Idaho that did super well with Mini Reds and Miraflores Market rocotos last year. He got LOTS of nice ripe pods. He is looking for Aji Oro and just started his other rocoto seeds. He cant find any seeds and im not sure how well they will even do in his shorter/cooler season. Im under the impression Aji Oro is a hot weather loving rocoto.

I got a few seeds in trade and im starting mine this week. If i get at least 4 to sprout i can send him what i got left over. Just trying to come up with a backup plan if they will do ok in northern Idaho?

I have some from last year that I got from TheGreenChiliMonster.  The two plants I got growing last year did not do well for me.  I'm sticking with the Peruvian Red Rocoto.  You can have the left over seeds which is about 16 seeds.  Unless Dale see's this and has some fresh one's for you.

To bump a great topic, I too am looking for a source (retail, trade, whathaveyou) for Aji Oro seed as well. It's amazing how little the retail outlets even know about this little gem. I too got my first Aji Oro seeds from TGCM (via Malarky), bnut being a noob that season I saved no seeds from the bounty harvest. They thrived on full sun and really pumped the pods...

Anyone know a store carying them besides Fatali (they're in Europe, don't trust the mails)...?

I have a bunch of them back in Florida, maybe I can get the kid to send them out.  I wouldn't say that they're a heat loving rocoto, but I did, after much struggle, get some good pods.  I put up quite a lot of seed from them.
.
I sorta thought it might be fun to spend the rest of my life trying to grow a florida landrace rocoto. :D

Do you want my seeds.  I did try germinating a few, but nothing.   They are a few years old.   14 seeds

Yes, I think most people think I’m a dude, going by my user name, which is my last name. Wanted to change it at one point but decided not to because a lot of forum members know me by that name. No offense taken anyway, I deleted some messages. You can PM me.
