Material for DIY Fabric Pots?

I am wanting to make a few of my own pots this year, and also have a few raised beds/boxes that I want to line. Any ideas on where I can find a roll of good material? And what is the stuff called? I can't find much through Google.

I think I was at Lowe's when I saw the material that's like the fabric pots, it was expensive though. I think it was called agricultural fabric or something. If you get the nice weed mat and upholstery thread I would think they would be fine.

Check out these small ones made by member arthropods.

I have access to these old restaraunt napkins from a place that supplies/washes uniforms and stuff.

Always love a good fabric pot discussion

DF suggested weed fabric, you could probably decide how much air flow you wanted just from the quality of the fabric you bought. The cheap white ones from Ebay/Ali are that white material, my wife says its called interfacing material.

I think you can make them outta just about anything from the past threads, long as they have the air prune effect to some degree.

Was a couple threads on this topic here is the link to the one I started but only has minimal information

Thanks for the info. I used black fabric pots last year. I wasn't happy about the water usage of the 7 gallon pots, mostly due to this ridiculous southern heat, but the larger 50 gallon bags held moisture very well. I think I watered my YBS 3 or 4 times in about 5 months! Also, it was hard to deny the air pruning benefits once I pulled the plants and got a look at the roots. I think I will go with white or beige this year and plan to keep them on the larger side with a raised bed-type structure using a crate that I got from work.
