scovilles Guinness World Records!!

Hello Everyone!

I'm pretty new to The Hot Pepper (I just joined a couple months ago).  In the "Welcome!" forum, I was telling everyone a bit about myself and I mentioned that one of my goals for 2019 was to break a Guinness World Record for Hot Pepper Eating.  A few people told me to keep them posted, so here's an update:

My first event was January 26th.  My new buddy, Fenyx Fyre, and I decide we'd team up to do a couple Guinness Records at a charity event we created called "An Evening of Heat."  My record was for Fastest Time to Eat Three Ghost Peppers and his was Most Flames Blown in 30 Seconds (he's a Thrillshow performer).  We had a prelim wing eating competition in between our attempts for Heatwave Hot Sauce Expo and we collected donations of warm clothing for the homeless.  The time to beat for Fastest Time to Eat Three Ghost Peppers was 16.15 seconds.  The record was set by Jason McNabb who also holds the record for Fastest Time to Eat Three Carolina Reapers and at one time held the record for Most Ghost Peppers Eaten in Two Minutes (he was beaten by LA Beast who was then beaten by Giancarlo Gasparatto).  I broke the record by finishing in 9.75 seconds!  Fenyx Frye blew 60 flames in 30 seconds.

My second Guinness attempt was last weekend at Heatwave Hot Sauce Expo.  I went for Most Ghost Peppers Eaten in One Minute.  TBH, this was a record Guinness had available for people to attempt, but there was no record set yet.  They set the bar at 30 grams and I ended up eating 97 grams!  I wasn't sure how I'd do but my goal was 80 grams, so I beat my goal.  This puts me in a good spot to attempt Most Ghost Peppers in Two Minutes since the record for that is 146 grams.  It would be a dream to hold a record once held by LA Beast and Giancarlo Gasparatto.  Those guys are two of heroes!

I don't think I'm ready for the Most Carolina Reapers in One Minute yet since that record is 120 grams but maybe with more practice I can get there.  I have a really good tolerance for heat, but I've only been speed eating for a few months.  I understand what I'm lacking in technique and I think I just need practice to get there.  There are a few other  Guinness records I'm going to go for in the mean time like Fastest Time to Eat 10 Ghost Peppers and Fastest Time to Eat Three Carolina Reapers.

My records are actually still under Guinness review, so they aren't official yet, but I'm sure I followed all the rules, so they should get back to me in a couple months.  If you want to check out my videos, they're posted on YouTube.com/HotReviews.  I'll keep you updated.

Wish me luck!

Well crap I was hoping to catch a stream or something....I was just thinking 'aboot' this a couple days ago actually and thought for sure it was a March event\

A big congrats anyways though man...hell even if your not in the book its still damn impressive!!

Edit - And class act that it was for charity to boot.

Yeah that's a super good idea to match the peppers and fire breathing to keeping the homeless a little warmer!

And like I said before, L.A. Beast is exactly that, a beast. So if your matching/beating anything he's done your doing just fine!

My internet company doubled my bill after my contract was up, so I quit paying them. I need to get some internet turned on, I kinda miss YouTube.

Yea, he's a beast!> YouTube star L.A. Beast devours two speed eating world records....... Exactly how many ghost peppers is 66 grams? 1 and 1/2 or 27? the gram thing hard to decipher!

I don't know if you read my whole post.  ;)  It takes about 3 months for approval.

For other Guinness Records like Fastest Time to Eat Three Ghost Peppers, they say the Ghost Peppers have to weigh at least 5 grams.  So, the record LA Beast had to beat was maybe only 13 peppers in two minutes.  It says in the article you posted that he ended up with 121.9 grams in May 2017.  That record was beaten by Giancarlo Gasparotto in February 2018 with 146.27 grams http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/world-records/most-bhut-jolokia-chilli-peppers-eaten-in-two-minutes

I just did 97 grams in one minute (10 double-sized peppers), so I'm hoping I could maybe do 180 grams in two minutes.  ;)

Careful with setting world records. You can only push the boundaries of life and nature for so long before nature pushes back.

I mean, other than your tongue and digestive system burning, peppers are not going to physically hurt you. Im excluding people with a pepper allergy, they shouldnt be setting World Records for most peppers eaten in 2 minutes.

Well it seems superhots are hitting me harder than they used to, so it does make me wonder if I'm fucking my stomach up.
