Looks delish, will have to try it sometime.

I've been eating them smothered in chili crisp for several weeks now.

Gotta get those omega 3s you know.

Sadly.

I can't find whole.

Fresh or frozen.

Sardines in north Texas.

This dude.

Butt rocketts!

Funny 'thang.

When I was a fishing guide in AK.

We'd hit the Nushagak for king salmon.

And later.

The Togiak.

We'd back troll a Kwikfish wrapped.

With sardine strips.

You want to catch a 100+ kings a day?

Because.

That is how you catch.

A 100+ kings a day.

We'd get the sardines frozen.

Shipped to us.

From a joint in Oregon.

Some of the best days of my life.

With avocado.

Olive oil.

And some cheapass.

Shakey's Pizza style.

Chile flakes.

Tin sardines in h20.

Drain them.

And splooge 'em.

With olive oil.

Lemon zest.

Lemon juice.

And more Shakey's.

IMG_1843.JPG

Toast some whole wheat bread.

Open faced.

Buttrock some of that avo.

With onion.

IMG_1844.JPG

Drop a deuce of the sardines.

She's not the purdiest girl.

IMG_1845.JPG

This sardine sammich.

Is a dirty talkin' whore.

IMG_1846.JPG

I love to be loving it looooong time.

No fishy taste or smell.

The citrus avo sardine combo.

And the cheapass chile flakes.

With the toasted whole wheat.

Sweet baby Jesus!

Where has this sammich been.

All of my life?

Gotta split now.

I need another one.

Got dang.

I normally get Seasons brand sardines. I like them bone in and skin on but their skinless in olive oil are ok when on sale. I really prefer them in water and unsalted. Its easy enough to add salt and yes they do need some salt. Costco gets the skinless/boneless in olive oil. On sale a 6 pack is about $3 off so its hard to pass them up. Thats around $7/6 pack for really good sardines.
