Confession Time

When I first came to this site I was looking for advice on growing peppers. I didn't eat them, I grew them because I thought they were beautiful and would enhance the look of my home. They are and they do. Wasn't a fan of the heat but I liked the flavor. I would give them away to my neighbors/family/friends.

After spending some time here and reading how much you folks truly love them I decided to give myself an opportunity to really get to know peppers. I have surprised myself and couldn't be happier.

Just this morning I sat down for a breakfast of cheesy scrambled eggs and biscuits. I had three different powders I made in front of me. I tried each powder twice on a bite of eggs. I would sprinkle some on a single bite, not season the entire plate of eggs in case I didn't care for the heat. I have to admit I really enjoyed those eggs.

I sincerely think I just took my first step to becoming a chilihead and I couldn't be happier. Bring it on!

Thanks for putting up with me.

I give it till this time next year that you want to eat a naga. Capsaicin is like crack that burns.

One year ago I thought jalapenos were hot. Now I eat habanero-poppers. Next year I'll grow various habs and chinenses, PC-1, Bhut Jolokia, eventually 7 Pot and Fatalii... could happen to you too...

Thanks everybody.

I'm taking this slow and easy. One or two spiced up foods a day. Yesterday was a bowl of rice with some butter and Lawry's Seasoning Salt. Pretty good. Then I added a few sprinkles of Paper Lantern/Congo Trinidad/Red Savina powder and oh my, what a wonderful effect. Didn't do any sweating but I did enjoy the nice warm glow in my mouth and backuhma throat. Sorry Neil.

I am so going to enjoy this trip.

No, no, no. Don't let them talk you into this. Peppers are evil and they mess with your mind. You are much better off just growing them and giving them away. If you cannot find suitable recipients, I would be willing to help you out. I don't really want them, but it would be a sacrifice I would be willing to make for a fellow THPr.

Wow. Thanks for the great advice JayT. I don't know if anybody has ever been this kind to me before. Excuse me, I think there's something in my eye.

I love this place.:)

You're so altruistic and caring! I hope you won't get a burn-out-syndrome!

I found this site thanks to Patrick and I thank him immensely! I guess you can I was a chili head before I came here but not to the extent as alot of you all are here. I suspect that will be changing as I am relly getting into this addiction alot more than before.
Unlike alot of you here I dont eat a pepper by itself but I love to use thim in soups, chlilli tacos, etc etc etc and hopefully will learn from the net's best hot pepper site on making variuos sauses and salsas next year when I start growing again. I already have to have a "fix" everyday! Yeah these suckers are indeed addicting I must say and I love it! ;)

Thanks again to you Patrick for turning me onto this site! :)
