i have my first flower open on one my plants, a jalapeno. 
i went to my local home depot today to get some potting soil. i needed more because a friend gave me some cucumber seedlings that he started from seed and had extras. of course i had to look at what peppers they had and shelves were half empty. most of what was there i either already have or had no interest in but i did grab one. Bonnie calls it chili red but its some kind of thai i think? i just couldn't help myself.
after i paid and went outside i saw a bonnie truck pull up and two guys started unloading A LOT of veggies. i new i had to leave before they break out the peppers because i already have more plants than i have room for. (Orekoc, space is reserved for the mad hatters

i picked up a bag of mushroom compost to try myself this year. i never used it but read good reviews on it. let me know how you like the cowhorn when you start getting pods. how many gallon pots are those?

The teeth marks look suspicious, maybe a squirrel, rat, ?????
i lost some bonnie cukes and i think it was multiple causes. my wife planted them and they came 4 seedlings in a small pot and she separated them to space them out and after planting we got two weeks of crappy rainy weather. add to that the squirrels here dig in most everything including containers. add a couple of cats using it as a litter box and none of them survived. we also have a couple of lettuce plants and some swiss chard from bonnie and we saw last night after dark a bunch of slugs eating away at the chard. yes i had some bonnie failures but it`s all environmental causes.
my friend gave some more cuke seedlings(marketmore) that he started from seed and i bought another bonnie boston pickling cukes(4 seedlings in the pot) so hopefully i get some this year.
i received the plants today! 2 day shipping from oregon to connecticut and because of the excellent and ingenious shipping the plants arrived safe and sound. the plants are a little droopy from 2 days in a box with no light but i think they will be fine. second pic is a bishop`s crown that Pugs started from seed. last 2 pics are Mad Hatters from bonnie plants. thanks Pugs!Orekoc said:

here`s a brief update on my pepper plants. all are doing well with the exception of one serrano. the plant (pictured in a yellow 5 gal bucket, 3rd, 4th and 5th pics) is still green and looks healthy but has had zero growth since repotting. this was one that had two plants growing in the same starter cup and i separated them when i repotted them. i don`t know if that stunted it somehow but the other plant is to it`s right and is growing normally. it`s not dying but it`s not growing at all so i will just leave it for now. this is my first bonnie pepper fail! 
i`m new to ghost and habanero so i`m not sure on normal growth but i notice they are getting bushy but not getting much taller. one of my jalapeno has about five pods so far. the bishop`s crown and mad hatters that member Orekec sent me are planted in the ground nearby but not pictured here. they are doing good but not much taller so far. most of the plants are showing buds with flowers to follow. the dragon cayenne plant accidently got topped by a soccer ball.

I have three Bonnie plants going. All are alive, and to date there is no sign of green bell pods! 
A Dragon Cayenne that is growing like mad and already cranking out ripe pods. This pepper grows as well as anything here in Az. and is one of the few that produces pods through the blazing early summer months.
A New Mex 6-4L that is healthy and growing, but not really thriving. The poor thing didn't look too good when acquired, but I got it for free and am hoping a little TLC will bring it back to 100%

Here are the two Mad Hatters I bought. I remember picking them out because they had a good amount of growth low on the trunk. As they are growing up, that growth is increasing, along with the amount of space between nodes. They've both forked and are showing new buds up top. I'm hoping the spacing evens out in the long run. And, that the cold snap we're getting tonight won't damage that new growth!
