Fresh Peppers Ruined me for Sauce

Hello everyone!

Has this happened to anyone?  Maybe I'm in a phase, but I have almost no interest in all the sauces that I love now that I have daily access to fresh hot peps.

I can't seem to find any reason to douse my food with sauce when I can pick some fresh ones and sprinkle them all over.  I get good heat and that fresh pepper taste!

Maybe it's a phase and I will get tired of the fresh peps, but anyone else run into this?

I definitely feel you on this.
The only thing I still can't do without sauce on are scrambled eggs.. Everything else, gotta have those fresh peppers!

Btw the dish in your pic looks delish!

I definitely agree, but for me at least, it is a seasonal thing.

I absolutely love putting the fresh peppers in, or on, or as, my food. But as my season is close to an end and the fresh ones will run out soon I will again turn to the sauces that I have collected.

Thanks Dalia!

I hear ya about the seasonality.  I guess Im lucky because I have two thai bushes that produce almost 10 mo a year.  This summer (110F-120F/42C-48C) when my plants quit out, I will have to switch back to sauces, or I will find myself heading to the grocery store for fresh peps.

I do use sauce mostly on eggs as well, but I have thrown fresh ones to great effect.

I have a couple sauces that I hVe to have in my fridge but other than that it is fresh pods in season, and dehydrated flake or powder, and some frozen pods for rest of year. Fresh pods freeze and work almost as well in dishes.

Fresh peppers are great but can't really be compared to sauce. Peppers are just one component in a sauce. It's like comparing raw tomatoes to pasta sauce. Two totally different things.
