Freshly Planted Peppers Dropping Leaves.

A small percentage of plants are dropping leaves. This is what I came out to today.

They are clean cuts, almost like with scissors, but not just fell off. It has been very rainy the past few days not sure if that has contributed to it or not. They were planted with limestone and fertilizer under them, but a very small amount of fertilizer. I had some one helping me so not sure if they may have put a little too much on this one or not, what do y'all think?

Weird, those dropped leaves look pretty healthy.

When I have leaf drop, the leaves usually already look like crap.  The only time I've had good leaves drop is after a freeze (at the end of the season).

Yeah they look fine, just dropped off at the stem like they were cut by a blade. No sings of problems elsewhere.

As Masher has said it could be Cut worms.

It also could be birds who will damage plants because they know the plant, once it grows, will inhibit their ability to collect garden worms. I've seen seedlings cut clean at the base from birds.

Ants can also cut leaves off, so look out for those too.

Will do, I went out today a a few more where like this. I think I'm going to have to spray something, problem is it's going to rain the next 2-3 days, so I'll have to wait.
