Judge my Carolina Reapers

Hey all!  I'd like to know what you think of my Carolina Reapers so far.  It's a plant I bought at Home Depot.  It was labelled Carolina Reaper for sure.  I'm a total noob, this is my first reaper, but here are my thoughts. 
 
#1.  They look way to smooth and don't look like the ones I see online.  Aren't they supposed to be shriveled and have a distinctive stinger at the end? 
#2.  The plant was mislabeled and is something else. 
#3.  Will they start to shrivel?  Maybe they aren't fully ripe yet.  I've heard the rep for reapers is they take forever.  Two weeks ago they were green like one of the pics.
 
Thanks for looking and for any input!  This plant is gorgeous and has over 50 of these peppers so far.

They don't look like reapers from any angle. Cool pods though. Did you taste them?

 It looks more like some kind of red Habanero than a superhot variety to me. On the bright side, Habs are very versatile peppers, and most people will find them extremely hot. Just not what you were expecting, unfortunately. 
 
Those look similar to some Caribbean red habaneros I grew last year. Definitely not reaper level heat but still up there for sure! 
 
Did you start that plant from a 4" seedling?  What month?  I'm envious, I won't be getting any of the megahots until July or August out here in cool California.

Hey Derelict, I bought it back in mid-March.  It was a good 6-8", so it was a well established plant.  I was hoping for a super hot, but now I'll have to wait for my Ghost peppers seeds I started last week.  I have been making up for losing everything when we had a hail storm in the beginning of March.  I can't believe the damage it did!
 
Ya, don't feel bad, HomeDepot/Vigora got me too...
 
They do taste good though, just not reapers. Keep them on the vine as long as you can and they sweeten up nice..
 
My bet, just some red habs with a rather unstable type plant/seeds imo. Its the only plant that turned pale on me. But it still stood up proud and is still producing lots of fruit, on my 3rd harvest from it. Must of produced at least 50 very hot tasty nice red hab type pods. And its flowering again... Its much hotter than my orange habs but no where near my real reapers painful nuclear heat...

Funny enough I was just about to post the same thing in a new thread. I too bought a "Carolina Reaper" from Home Depot at the end of March. It is now over 3 feet tall with pods everywhere. Although none of mine have ripened yet the pods look identical to yours. Looks like whoever supplied Home Depot with that shipment sent the wrong seedlings. Since it is my first attempt at growing anything at all, I'm pleased with how much fruit the plant is yielding even though it's not what I expected. I'll be watching this thread to see if anyone has luck identifying these plants.

Since you and acs1 have replied, I did a little Googling, and I found a couple of reddit posts regarding Home Depot and Vigora peppers.  One person said they actually got Scotch Bonnets or some type of Habanero instead of Reapers. 
 
I'm starting to think rnichols1990 is right, these look like Caribbean Habaneros.

Thanks, these peppers are growing on me, almost like they're my pets... lol. Can hardly wait for my bacctums to come to fruit...
 
If you're close to Boynton, NOMAD farms has real reapers and many varieties of bacctums.
