grills Napoleon Grills

Hi, Guys,

I have a Napoleon Grill, which I've had for about eight years. It has three grill burners, a rotisserie, infrared searing burner and a side burner. I love it, however I've never been able to get a handle on the side burner. The flame is just out of control. I should say that this grill is running on natural gas. It seems like the side burner needs an additional regulator on it. No matter how far down I turn this burner, it's still runs way too hot.

Anyone have a Napoleon, on natural gas, with a side burner that acts like this? I'd sure love a second opinion.

Thanks. My husband is a pretty handy guy and I thought someone here might know a fix to try before heading down that rabbit hole.

Was it converted from propane? Maybe the jet was drilled out to too large a diameter.

are you trying to simmer something and the burner is running too hot? if so you can try using something like a small metal plate or a piece of tile as a buffer to diffuse some of the heat. if you say what you are trying to do it will help in finding an answer.

You might actually have something here.  They were supposed to order the parts to make it run on natural gas,  Maybe they did just drill it out.  The grill itself runs really hot, which I like, but it has the control I want, too.  It will heat up to 6-700 degrees in like 10 minutes.  I just can't get a simmer out of the side burner.

That's exactly it.  I have a diffuser I use on my gas range inside.  I tried and it wouldn't work as well on the side burner.

Do you remember if they gave you back any parts after the conversion? If it was just a wrong sized jet the propane one they took out might work to give you a low heat simmer burner.
