Chili con Carne

Hungry in the middle of the night and the weather is turning cold now. What could be more natural than a pot of Chili con Carne?

The most effective way to keep the teens out of it is to fill it with kick.

800g lean ground beef
healthy shake of dehydrated garlic
healthy shake of onion power
2 pkg of chili spice mix
1 can La Costena Chipotles en Adobo cut into strips with scissors
1 Carolina Reaper from last year's stash, taken out of the freezer
1 Chocolate Scotch Bonnet - last year's stash
2 cans of kidney beans
2 cans of crushed tomatoes

This is really simple, takes less than 30 minutes to prepare.

Hey podx, "less than 30 minutes to prepare.", what about cooking time?

Something ive been adding lately is Rotel tomatoes with green chiles. No salt added version. The whole damn can only adds about 37mg of sodium and they work great in chilli.

I add them right after browning the meat along with the chilli spice mix. Cook it with the meat until its reduced by maybe half. This helps soften the tomato acid bite and gets the meat seasoned faster than just simmering in stock. Works great for taco meat too.
