Another Suppose to be C. Reaper

My phone Camera (all i have) has a rough time Up close. Hopefully these pics will do, if not i can try for better

I started these seed back around Christmas Time, which proved to be WAY to early, I ended up with 6 nice plants, They were outgrowing my light setups Fairly FAST, I ended up Topping them like 3 Times, The last time was a Bob off about 2 from the Soil, Just Stobs.
I had tried to move the Plants Outside in April, That proved Disastrous, It is just WAY to cold here in North Idaho. I was taking them in and out of my Garage at night, But it dropped down to 25-28 one night and even though they were in my Garage it Stung them, I was gonna lose them if I didnt intervene, I ended up pulling 3 of them out of the Big pots (Soil was REALLY COLD) The other 3 looked pretty rough so i discarded them. I put the 3 keepers in Little pots and brought them Back inside the house and in a Window Sill, They went back outside in June. And here we are today.

Sorry for this blurry pic, I tried n tried

I plucked a Flower to get a better pick

And here is the Plant, The other 2 Plants might actually be C. Reapers? I was paying closer attention to the other 2 plants when i took this Pic, The plants are a bit smaller, and the Pods look more Smiliar to a Reaper? Time will tell on them.
But this Particular Plant is LOADED with Green Pods that havent turned yet, and they all look identical in Shape to the 2 Chocolate colored ones above

Remember these plants were topped like 3 times through the Winter as they were outgrowing me, the last time they were literally Bobbed off to about a 2 inch Stob, So instead of Growing up, they are Growing outward.

Whatever this Plant is? These Chocolate colored Pods are SMOKIN Hot, i ate 1 the other Day as i was Watering my Tomato plants, That thing LIT ME UP BIGTIME!! Worse than anything i have ever experienced, Even my hair was burning lol! And the Burn lasted a LOT longer than i had hoped. I wont be eating anymore of these like that, They will go in Salsa, and Sauce

Not quite a chocolate bhutlah and obviously not a pure reaper. Early pods often dont look right but color is a whole other problem. I would move it away from your other Reapers if possible and make a mental note of how later pods look vs current pods.

Take a good pic inside but with enough light without the flash when those first 2 pods are nice and ripe. Outdoor pics on the plant are sometimes hard to capture attributes like texture and color. I try to take my outside pics when its overcast and the pods in my hand. That helps my camera focus.

I would say your pods and plants do show some Reaper-ish traits. Something is certainly up if one plant is loaded with pods and the other 2 are not. It does piss me off a bit when peppers dont grow close to true but its also part of the journey. You may end up with some really kick ass pods later. :D

My Reapers and my Dragons Breath plants look a bit similar. Both though look different than my other chinense plants. Sort of hard to put into words but leaves and growth style are different.

What i did was went on PuckerButtPepperCo site and looked at what they grow/sell, When i seen their Chocolate Bhutlah I Thought YEP! Thats what this is, It is the only thing it looked like it could be? Maybe a cross? Its definitely Not a Reaper

this pepper has my interest for sure looks like a good find and kinda like the “black Reaper” that the image was shown during the choco loco challenge bar video.

I wonder if my peach reaper from them will come out true or if it will be something else haha

This 1 plant that has the 2 Chocolate colored Pods is an odd one for sure? For the Most part all of the Green Pods i can see (Lots of em!) They all seem to resemble that longer Length like the 2 Chocolate colored pods above. BUT this morning i spotted 2 that I havent noticed (they camo up good) They more so resemble C. Reaper, i could only get a pic of 1 of them, the other one is buried in Deep foilage

To me, this looks more like the Start of a C. Reaper Shaped Pod, At least According to the Pics i have seen anyway.

This one is on a Different plant next to it, which is suppose to be C. Reaper as well

Maybe he hooked you up with chocolate pepper X seeds! Lol
No telling, Ive read some interesting things on the Guy. Theres no doubt Im gonna have some SMOKIN HOT Pods, Which is a Good deal, Hopefully some actually look like Reapers. Im thinking about saving the Seed from this Largest Chocolate Pod?

Reapers throw off tons of "off pheno" pods from what ive seen but yeah...brown...nah thats way off....I would just enjoy the surprise and save the seeds. Choose pods with the attributes you like. See if you get the same traits next year.

I checked mine the other day. Its a CCN Reaper. They had two C. Reapers but the one labeled Smokin Eds was sold out. My largest pod sofar looks like a typical Reaper but not much of a stinger on it. All my supers and some bonnets are really starting to pod up but most are still way too small to tell. I do have several pods that are spot on. All my first JPGS pods were a little off on the first wave. Pods on the 2nd plant though look wicked and exactly what i wanted in a JPGS.

And most importantly......post pics......The guys here are pic whores. :D

You will get this if you forget.

Notice how the skin is rough but not pebbled. Some of my Reaper pods are getting large enough i might be able to get a good pic outside. Im seeing the same "pebbled" skin on my Reapers and Dragons Breath but not on my Naglah Brown. Most or at least many of my Scotch Brains have it too. Whether its the correct pheno or not for a Reaper it is one of the traits that makes them look "gnarly" :D

I will be saving seeds from the gnarly looking pods :P

I've talked to Ed Currie personally about his fields and he has acres of nothing but reapers in it so the possibility of cross pollination is slim but still possible I suppose. He has also mentioned that he's had chocolate reapers pop up before in his fields so maybe this is just an off pheno chocolate reaper? Either that or they mixed up the seeds
