misc Am I setting myself up for “the bad”?

Toying with some kitschy type items I can have on my table to sell along with my hot sauce and stuff.

Ive seen variations of this but dont think Ive seen this directly.

Selling reaper powder or flakes in the little glass vials , not unlike how you may see drugs stored. Of course, theyd be labeled properly and I think people would get a kick out of it.

I just keep envisioning being approached by an undercover cop who asks what Im selling. I tell em its Carolina reaper pepper flakes/powder.

Them asking me to prove it or they insist on trying

Me telling them that I wouldnt recommend that

Them hauling me off to jail for distribution

LOL

Am I overthinking all this?

Overthinking?  most definitely. :)

Novelty pepper items - especially those in the $2-5 range are a great way to increase add on sales.  The little vials and such would be a good addition to your booth.

My only advice:  Don't go buying 5k small glass vials.

I think its a good idea.  Like Smoke said, smaller inexpensive products like that are an easy sell.  And then, hopefully you'll get people wanting to buy bulk after trying it out......really didn't mean to make that sound like a drug reference...

I make some pretty hot chili oils that I keep in small, 1 or 2 oz glass dropper bottles, and they're super convenient for me to use every day.  Friends always get a kick out of that, looking like a chemist...or drug user or something when I'm just fixing a snack.
