i crave Pesto ! poll

i will reserve my answer for a while to see what everyone`s answer is. be honest! if you like it say so. if you don`t, say it too. no heat in this pesto. just green. could be basil. could be anything green, spinach, parsley, kale or what have you. just curious what people say. cheers all! :cheers:
 
Basil is great, but for some reason turning it into pesto seems to kill its flavor to me. A couple leaves fresh or dried seems to impart plenty of that unmistakable basil goodness, but somehow you blend up a metric ton of it with a bit of oil and it is hardly recognizable. One of lifes mysteries to me, i voted take or leave.
 
Can't stand blender pesto , the cutting, ripping action washes out the flavour somehow.

Mortar and Pestle just produces a noticeably better pesto.

Never add the cheese until the end and just fold it through the paste , don't bash it in.( This is a key point even if you insist on using a blender /machine )

Not a huge fan of pine nuts so often sub with pistachio or walnut.
 
I love pesto. For a special treat try making it with Thai basil.
 
Your poll it too sensational though. I feel like if I vote for the first one it makes me some pesto nut! (pun intended) lol.....
 
ok not much response so i`ll chime in with my thoughts. my wife loves pesto but really don`t care for it. i must be oversensitive to it but it taste too "green". like tree leaves.  :sick:  :sick:  :sick:  it`s like anchovies where i want to like it but when i try it its like hell no!
