Has anyone used one of these barrels?

I received one of these as a gift and was curious if anyone has used one of these.  It's called "The Amazing Pepper Barrel".
I have to admit it is quality work.  The fit of the staves is awesome.  It has been charred already inside.  The top doesn't fit tight but maybe that is because I haven't "cured" it yet.  You are supposed to fill with water and let it soak as part of the curing process.

Speaking of the recipes, I don't think they are right proportion wise.  The one for Ghosts calls for 3lbs and this is only a 1L barrel.  That would be some hot as hell sauce!
