Mr. Stripey tomatoes

On Sunday, the wife and I decided to stop by Lowe's and Home Depot on our way home from Walgreen's hoping that I might find a Fresno plant. We left with $50 worth of plants, but none of them peppers. But we did pick up a Mr. Stripey tomato. She always wanted a bi-color tomato plant and we finally found one in Mr. Stripey.

Do these need any special care at all? I have the plant, a cage-type thing for support, and we'll probably get some Miracle Gro for tomatoes at some point as well. Is there anything special we need to do with this variety, especially in terms of sun or shade? Thanks in advance to anyone who can give us some assistance/advice.

Ciao TexomaHeat-

Mr. Stripey is a nutbar tomato because there are 2 varieties out there going by the same name. One is a bicolour orange/yellow beefsteak and the other is a somewhat smaller red tomato with gold stripes. With either of these, though, they're both indeterminate tomatoes which can grow to 6 ft or more. They'll need to be staked, not caged, especially not with those el cheapo wire thingies. I use those for the shorter determinate varieties and sometimes for peppers in containers, mainly so they don't get blown over during our lovely summer thunderstorms. Does the tag give any indication which of the 2 Mr. Stripeys you adopted?

I tried Red Zebra last year and they were extremely productive. Din't weight them, but I'm guessing about 6-8 pounds of toms per week per plant, right up until the killing frost.
