What spicy food did you eat today?

My El Yucateco habanero sauce wasn't hot enough for me. I had to spice it up with some Mad Dog Revenge 1,000,000 scoville extract. That is what I am dipping my crackers in, haha. My family and friends think I am nuts.

You will find that everywhere I am afraid. You are nuts, but here you are normal. I have converted a dozen or so people to eat hot stuff over the past few years so I can share the fun with people outside my computer screen.

I love the ol El Yucateco, its been a brilliant tool for bringing my friends round to spicy (sort of) food. Time to move them on soon to bigger and more most excelent hotness

Ok, a collage of recent spiceynxt:

Late-Night Jalapeno Dorito Nachos

Made w/ Dorito's Last Call Jalapeno Popper chips, Jalapenos, smoked sun-dried tomatos, mushrooms, onions (given a quick saute together to really kick up the flavor), several cheeses were made into a sauce with my spicy taco meat w/ GPS. Liberal use was made of misc. pepper powders too.

Sprinkled on some extra Mozz just because I can.

Served up on a bed of refried beans mixxed with chipotle/cayenne/hab powder and cumin. Topped with sour cream and green onion foo-foo stuff.

The Nacho leftovers made a nice Nacho-Burrito later on too...added some El Pato Green Jalapeno Hot Sauce and a bit more refried beans & cheese.

Homemade Egg Salad Sammie

Made w/ Scorpions Blood, mayo + curry powder, celery, onion, dill pickle, stone ground mustard, sambal olek and Meunster cheese.

Yummo.

Thanx Jimmy. :-D

Here's a version of a couple of my favorite sammies locally.

A melding of The Big Tony & The Jerry's at Sandwich Gardens.

I used to know a manager there so she'd customize my sandwiches a bit. ;)

Here's my take on it, plus some fire of course...

Mine has slices of good whole wheat bread, one side mayo mixed with my Habanero-Horseradish Sauce, the other mayo and about a tsp. of Scorpion's Lust Sauce.

Then, we add Cotto Salami, Aged White Cheddar, Braunschweiger, Sweet Walla Walla Onions and Pickled Peppers, Liberal sprikling of Sea Salt & Pepper, and some freshly grated Cotija Cheese. Topped off with lettuce and tomato and ready to go.

Currently is cleaning out my sinuses quite nicely...I think my Hab/Horse sauce has gotten hotter over time..really making me tear up. And then the Lust sauz hits ya...heheheh...It's just great stuff man.

No pics, but i'm eating some roasted chicken with some sushi rice and a tortilla. That wasn't hot, so i added some chile flakes given to me by Caustic Casey here on THP. Nice flavor! This stuff is a nice burn and i always forget i have it. It's a blend of various chiles and real nice stuff. Washing down with an Idris Fiery ginger beer. Good lunch!

Yeah, that sauce isn't that hot, but it is one of the tastiest!

Why thank you, it's a great compliment. :)

I've been either watching cooking or cooking as long as I can remmeber. Mom was your classic Betty Crocker sort who always cooked and baked everyday and Dad was an amateur photog so I guess it's genetic eh?

Pix ain't too bad for a Samsung S630 I bought used for $40 a couple of years ago. ;)

I'd love to have a cookbook someday, but I'm so all over the charts, IDK how that'd work for categorizing.

Ha! Perhaps this:

"The Snack MacGuyver's Field Manual: Blowing up the Flavor, Not the Kitchen!"©

Props to TB though...watching and competing with him has really made me up my game, learn new things and rekindled a childhood love of the Cast Iron.

Skol!

Heh, yeah..I've always loved cooking.

Even thought about culinary school..but frell, I don't like their BS way of things.

I'm more of a Rick Bayless sort, he never went to chef school and he does just fine. :D

I've likely learned and grown in cooking more since I've been here than at any other time though. You guys rock!

Ok, technically, it's not "cooking"...but here's tonight's movie-watching snack-madness.

The UnholyUnion Sammich...

Turkey, Bruswieger, ColbyJack, Gypsy peppers, onion, green olive, spread w/ mayo/mustard/naga4brainz...and "spicy sprouts" on 9-grain bread.

(clover+radish sprouts)

S6304733.jpg

Pretty yummy.

And right now, I'm gonna watch a new vampire/werewolf movie, so need fearsome snackage...that's simple enough for beer consumption.

Behold, the The Pepperoni Peril

Triscuits, Pepperoni, and Neufchâtel mixed with garlic/onion and bacon powders. Kicked into freekin' orbit with about 1/8 tsp worth of 10 Minute Burn.

S6304745.jpg

Holy F**K on a STEECK, that stuff is liquid fire!

Even mixed into about an ounce of cheese, it's enough to make me feel like I drank lighter fluid...and lit it. Sucking wind with every bite here...but I like it. It's got a kinda smokey dark flavor to it.

Jee...Who'd a thought Bhut's PLUS 7.3M extract would be hot eh?

:hell:

Spiced rice... pickled jalapeno, Cholula, crushed red pepper, garlic and cumin. 2 bratwurst and 2 sunnyside up eggs. A little butter and cheese, muenster, for the rice.

Thems good eats.

I had a fresh (sorta) store bought green jalapeño kick my a$$ last night. Made a double decker chili burger with home made wheat bread, canned Nalley's thick chili, 3 slices of american cheese, chopped purple onion, and one sorta large jalapeño chopped. Three bites in and I had a real good burn going, and a minor case of hiccups trying to let loose. I got control over the hiccups, but by the time I finished it I was light headed from the endorphin rush! Man it was good, what a gut bomb!
