First outdoor transplant

Living dangerously as we have a month until Frost Free and there are still likely to be a few nights when it gets under 30 degrees, but I transplanted a Pink Angels Trumpet yesterday. It's not in the ground but instead in a 15 gallon container - with bunches of dirt and potting soil in it. I can barely lift it now and once it gets a couple of inches of rain, it is going to be nearly impossible.

On the plus side, it's right outside the front door, so it will be easy to run an extension cord and 100 watt light bulb if a freeze is predicted.

As much as I look forward to a lush garden of toms, peppers, beans, cukes, carrots, corn and lettuce this summer, this project is my pet this summer. Get a fountain built in front of it and beautiful flowers on the sides, then have this thing grow six feet wide and eight full tall!

Lee,

I'll try to get one tomorrow - I have a five gallon bucket with a big rock over the top now - we have the possibility of large hail here later on and since the sun is down, the air inside the bucket is not going to heat up. Figured I might as well cover it now, just in case, rather than have to do it with pieces of ice raining down on me!
