Spicy Kraut-Dog

More improv snakz... :-)

Took my yummers Idaho Falls Hot & Smokey Sausage, and cooked it up with a mess of kraut, onions, sambal olek, and hab powder. I used my homemade bih/jap/hab chile oil made earlier so the onions and such wouldn't burn. I cut in half as they're too big for a normal hotdog bun otherwise.

Cooked that until the onions were getting carmelized and the Dog was done.

Okie...I let that rest while fixed up some whole wheat buns. Spread with Buffalo Chipotle Sauce, Plochman's Natural Stone Ground Mustard, and Naga Mama Naga Morich and Bhut Jolokia Chilli Sauce.

Applied the Sausages w/ the other stuff, added shredded Jack, put on foil and Toaster-Ovened at about 300F until nice and melty and the bun was warmed nicely.

Getting there!!

Ok, it's done now. :)

I cut the foil in half, and used it as a holder/keeper-warmer-thingy.

Damn Tasty Stuff...

TY Impy! :)

I comtemplated some pickle relish, but seemed like it's distract from all the other flavors. Another nice part of using the foil is it makes a nice wrap for storing one 'til tomorrow...and then ya can just re-heat it back up in the toaster oven.

Kinda like ballpark leftovers...except waaay hotter. :D

YW mate. :D

I checked those out..they seem kinda similar to these if a bit larger.
It's cool these are made somewhat locally over in Idaho.

Naturally hardwood smoked for a rich and distinct flavor
Natural casing
Excellent for grilling or pan frying

Just re-heated the 2nd one for lunch, and I swear it's hotter than I recall from before...fun.

You have a Trademarked Foil Dog? I must've missed that. Anyone have the link?

Looking good QS. You are MacGyver. I make something similar in the summer on the grill with brats beer and kraut simmered with onions and apples.
