Searched and found one 7 years ago and instead of activating a necro thread with dead photobucket links I thought might start a new one. Winter here so probably gona do some sweet stuff :D

 

Had a craving for eggs lately. Rye bread/tomato with a slab of Havarti, Golden berry hot sauce and harissa sauce.

Pepper Bowl

Picked this up for $1 at a used store, thought it was nice Pepper shaped Bowl, about the volume of a large soup bowl. Ceramic.

This is one that popped up 6 months after planting and no label, the leaves look a bit funny. I realize its gonna be difficult to ID till fruit comes, I just thought the leaves are strange and dont resemble anything I have.

Just found out about this spice today. Noticed two people have used it on the Forum. Wondering what is it like? Sounds like its like a Pepper.

Cherry Hot Portugal Jam

Made this couple days ago.

 

1lb5oz cherries

1lb Hot Portugal peppers

1 med onion

1/2 cup ACV

1cup Honey

1tsp salt

1oz Apple dried (= about 10oz fresh)

1tbsp low/no sugar Ball pectin.

 

Blitz (was too tired to separate seeds so pushed through sieve after blitzing).

Cooked for 20 min in rice cooker and simmer for an hour, added knob of butter to reduce bubble splatter.

3 500ml mason jars, vacuum sealed them while hot.

Heal level a couple notches up from Jalapeno, very nice blend, a hint of cherry, other then that cant describe it, very fruity, cant wait to try it on pancakes :D , glad I didnt pump up the heat, just right and civilized :)
