#1574080 UK Hot Sauce Co Conspirators

Sorry for the late reply! The Nuclear Bum sauce bottles are 50ml samples, whereas the others are full 150ml bottles. I should probably put the bottle volume on the listings.

All my sauces are on http://www.curioussauces.co.uk but I'm tweaking them soon. Just give me a shout which one you like and I'll post it out.
There's a few markets around Glasgow that I attend, but like most, it's trial and error to see which are worth it and which consist of me freezing my feet off for 5 hours on a rainy Saturday!

Hi DragonFire,

Thanks for that! I hadn't considered cheese wax, but if it's the kind that wraps around a Babybel cheese, then that could definitely work. The almost rubbery feel could be perfect for bottles.

Cheers,

Tom

Hi SalsaLady,

Thanks for the info. I honestly have no idea why they're getting harder to source over here. Cheers too for the customer side of things (I can imagine it'd be a pain if the wrong wax or application process was used). I was using sleeves on about 300 bottles and thought it'd never end! I was almost glad when my heatgun decided to give up the ghost!

Thanks,

Tom

I was at the commercial kitchen last week, making a batch of hot pepper fudge, and saw another client sealing bottles of flavored syrup with wax. I'll try to remember to ask for details next time I see him. If you want, send me a pm to help me remember.

Hi,

That'd be great, thanks! Any and all tips are appreciated.

Cheers,

Tom

Hi all,

Does anyone here use plastic bottles for their sauces? I'm thinking of trying it out due to the fact that my trial run of mail order has resulted in a trial run of people receiving a soggy cardboard boxes full of glass shards!

I know it's possible to get plastic bottles you can hot fill, but I'd imagine the temp can't be nearly as high as when I hot fill glass bottles.

Cheers,
Tom

Blimey! You can strip paint with that stuff!

I didnt have much money back then. If it hadnt been for cheap haggis at the Edinburgh University Union, I would probably have starved. Plus, I had to save a few quid for McEwans Export!

Can't beat some haggis, neeps, and tatties!

Welcome Tom. I lived four years in not so sunny Edinburgh. Been living in very sunny South Carolina for many years now. Miss the occasional haggis.
