How Far Apart Should My Pepper Be So They Don't Cross Polinate?

How far apart should my peppers be so they do not cross polinate? I might have to move some, they are about three feet apart but I want to save seeds for the winter.

Is This Enough Space?

10 July 2018 - 06:10 PM

So my three Carlina Reaper plants are getting bigger now and I wanting to plant them in one of my raised garden beds now. I am wanting to plant them in between some corn and tomatoes. Here are some pictures. Does it seem like enough space? I would cut back some of the lower leaves on the corn and the tomatoes to allow more light in.

Hello, I am wondering what the best general fertilizer is for hot pepper plants? I heard that a slow release 10-10-10 fertilizer works well. What do you use?

Lots of Cayenne Peppers Germinated!

24 June 2018 - 05:09 PM

I know that to a lot of people on this forum Cayenne Peppers are just candy, but I still want to share this. I used the coffee filter and baggy method to germinate Cayenne Peppers. I put a lot of old seeds we had just sitting around from a long time ago in a coffee filter, folded it, sprayed it with water, and put it in a bag and taped it to the window. I was expecting just a few to germinate. I looked at it today and there were so many germinated. I put them into plastic cups with holes in the bottoms. Some cups have up to four plants in them. I know some may die but still it's pretty cool.
