Can I Germinate Them?

18 June 2018 - 05:02 PM

I bought a Habanero at the store, ate it, and picked out big clump of seeds from the middle out. The pepper was in a fridge twice so I am not sure if that hurt the viability of the seeds. I am wanting to let them dry out for a few days then try to germinate them. Also, the seeds are pretty well attached to the "stalk" from the middle of the pepper. Do you think they have a chance of germinating? Also, are those little black dots fungus?

Can a Single Plant Produce Peppers With Viable Seed?

13 June 2018 - 12:01 PM

I have a pepper plant coming up from an old batch of seeds, and I am wondering if just one plant alone, with no others around it, can produce peppers with viable seed? Or do they have to have other plants around it to do that? What I am hoping (if I have only one plant germinate) that I can just have it grow peppers and use it as an "endless" supply of seeds.

Most Trusted Online Seed Sources

12 June 2018 - 10:07 PM

Hello, I am looking for the most trusted online seed source for pure Carolina Reaper seeds. I keep hearing horror stories of people ordering seeds online and growing the plants only to have them be a completely different pepper than what it said it was. Can y'all give me a list of trusted seed sources that I can order from online? Is Pepper Joe trusted? Thank you.

Carolina Reaper Seed Watering Help!

07 June 2018 - 06:27 PM

Hello, I am currently on my second attempt germinating Carolina Reaper seeds. The thing I did wrong on the first try was I would water them then they would get completely dry within an hour, so they never grew. Now I have a humidity dome and heat mat and have a few questions about watering. I am afraid of either making the seeds not grow from lack of water or making them rot. So I put the seeds in the little cells on my growing tray and watered them very well on Tuesday, which is when they went in. They are on a heat mat with a humidity dome. Today I noticed that there is a ring of dry soil around moist soil in the middle. My question is, do they need watered or are they fine? How do I tell if I need to water them? And do I water from the top (I did the first time) or the bottom (since my tray has holes in each cell)? Finally, does the heat mat make the water dry faster at the bottom of the soil and leave the top looking moist, or is it if the top is moist so is the bottom? I have attached pictures. Thank you for any help! I am new to this!

Hello, I am new to the forum, so I am probably going to end up posting something in the wrong section as I am learning about the forum. I am new to growing hot peppers and I originally joined for help with some Carolina Reaper seeds.
