#1587658 Can't find cayenne peppers in any stores

Posted by Will-zone10a on 15 October 2018 - 09:10 PM

I think it's always worth a try :)

But if it's something not in the options for mitchNC

You can always place an order for crushed, powdered, extract, paste, whole fresh or whole dried pods.

Less sweets or more peppers (maybe add a 1 or 2 pepper with seeds) would be my first guess with your recipe and your needs

Posts above me seem like a good place to start too

yes sir thats a great idea..10% of what i make goes to drug addiction ministry anyways...so this might work. thank you

Caudle, it's clear you just want ideas to avoid fees.

Have you thought of taking on another part time/side hustle that doesn't deal with licenses?

#1582117 Anybody grown both?: Aji Cito & Lemon

Posted by Will-zone10a on 15 September 2018 - 07:16 PM

If you grew one Aji verity and it did well, expect to see the others do well as well.

Very slight chance of one or two verity may not do well in your area depending how sensitive the plant is

There are TONS of videos of people reviewing Aji Lemon. It's spot on.

It has Medium heat - Hotter than pineapple and mago

one of the sweetest hot peppers (sweeter than most)

I dont feel like nothing is wrong. i was told to take off face book by family because FDA might see and i could get fined. in South Carolina apparently the cottage food laws prohibit me for making sauce in my house. I knew if i come to this forum I would get the real answer..i called an attorney and ask him the does and do nots of what i need to do..1st off i need a kitchen then a business licence i am guessing.

The city hall workers at SC will tell you what you can and can't do - they'll explain in greater details then we can.

It's not worth trying to walk around this, if anyone finds out everything will get shut down and you'll get slapped with a nice fee

Internet activity requires some specific knowledge

Why are you afraid of getting fined?

Did you important ingredients from another country illegally?

There are tons of videos on YouTube showing how to start a business (even a hot sauce starting business)

OP if you are experimenting with flavors blueberries are the go to berry, try that out first also try differentiating your product

#1580913 What peppers can you get locally?

Posted by Will-zone10a on 09 September 2018 - 02:16 PM

Locally (stores) Habs, Jalapeno, Ghost Peppers

Locally (growers) I used to have someone who offered phantom peppers and Rocoto peppers (and all the flavors it comes in)

but he's not picking up the phone anymore
